      go dreamviews/dreamveiws!

I happened to notice someone has staked a claim at 'dreamveiws.com.' I believe there's a term used to describe that case (when someone tries to capitalize off a typo by registering such a domain name) but I don't recall it. Anyway, I just thought it was great someone thought we were big enough to do that! Sort of puts us on the map...in a crazy way I guess. Interesting...sometimes it brings up information on pictures, landscapes, real estate, etc. (like a "dream view")...other times it's got a bunch of lucid dreaming links.

There also appears to be a dreamviews.net, which I'm less than thrilled about (I had wanted to register that domain but then this site became more expensive with our recent host move). Looks like a German (Friedemann Roessler) registered dreamviews.net. According to Google's translator, it says "Here a new InterNet operational readiness level develops! Outlaw, Aey!" For some reason I don't think that's a completely accurate translation...
Each new day is a chance to turn it all around.

That line on dreamview.net actually translates as "Here a new internet presence is developing." Who know how long it's been under construction, though, or whether that's just a place-holder for someone who registered the domain in hopes of later selling it to you or someone else.

HAha, that's awesome. Well the dreamveiws part anyway. As for the german site, well yeah more or less it says 'A new internet webpage is being created/developed here'. Dunno about the final part, my german sucks. I can speak a little bit though

We'll just wait and see what comes out of that one eh

mmm... popups. Does that googler.com website still work, or did google buy them out in their quest for world domination?

It was registered a bit over one month ago:

      Code:
      domain: * * * * * * * * * * * * *dreamviews.net

      created: * * * * * * * * * * * * 27-Oct-2005

      registration-expiration: * * * * 27-Oct-2006

      status: * * * * * * * * * * * * *CLIENT-TRANSFER-PROHIBITED

      registrant-firstname: * * * * * *Friedemann

      registrant-lastname: * * * * * * Roessler

      registrant-street1: * * * * * * *Eduard-Steinle-Str. 14

      registrant-pcode: * * * * * * * *70619

      registrant-city: * * * * * * * * Stuttgart

      registrant-ccode: * * * * * * * *DE

      registrant-phone: * * * * * * * *+49.1727108164

      registrant-email: * * * * * * * *[email protected]
      [edit]
kuckma.de seems to contain the name "dreamviews" not in relation to dreamviews.com or lucid dreaming so this probably is not a registration made with bad intentions.

Cyber-squatters. They like to rope people in based on typos and misspellings, usually to spyware ridden sites or something else equally lovely. They probably saw how popularish this site was (by checking its pagerank? I don't know) and so they bought a few domain names surrounding it. A computer probably did it. I expect if you let the regestration for dreamviews.com expire, they'd snap it up very fast and turn it into a pornography site or something.
