So, who " used to be in a band " ?

After a conversation with Tornado Joe today, I thought it
would be interesting to see how many of us " used to be in a band ".


Mine was The Ditch. Me in the middle, singing. This was summer '02 in
a cool place in Asbury Park called The Saint. All originals, the bass player and
guitarist have been my friends forever.

So, whip 'em out. I can't be the only one here who used to haul gear
all over the place for $100 a night just because it was a blast to be on
stage.

yeah i was in a band...then i joined another one...i'm a drummer...and the band is called perspective...

I used to be in a band, I was lead guitarrist, and composer, the name of the band was anything we came up before a gig(usualy a name of a song), we didn't like having a name, people started calling us "sin nombre"(nameless), or the one timers would go by the name we had the time they saw us, we were pretty well know at our city. And we always played for free, but at the end there was always a party we free beer, weed and easy woman :D :D the good days 8). I miss so much my hometown :(

I was in a band in high school. I was the singer. I'm not going to tell you guys what our name was because I'm positive it was something really stupid. :-P We mostly did covers of Metallica, Queen, Zepplin, etc. We did play gigs for our friends and whoever came along, but we didn’t make much money from it. It was mostly for our own enjoyment.

Music runs in my family. My grandfather played the piano and the sax and my father plays the drums in a band in Maine (The EZ Riders). They’re mostly country-western style. I’m pretty sure my dad and their guitarist would rather be rocking out, but at least they’re playing music.

I’d love to sing in a band again someday, but I think my voice has gotten worse.

I was kinda in a band...I sing and play bass, but our sticking point was the fact that me and my guitarist live 400 miles away from one another...so these days we just chat instead of trying to make music.

I studied music all through school -- majored in it, in fact. In college, I had a friend who's parents bought a restaurant. I put together a little jazz combo that would play there on weekends. Just something we kind of threw together because there was an opportunity.

It was a lot of fun, but they couldn't make a profit from the restaurant, and after it closed we never did anything else.

other than that I've performed in operas but that doesn't really count

awww, here's our group photo, but they cut me out because I quit last year and I don't have the original, oh well =/

A) I don't mind making a fool of myself sometimes
B) can't be as bad as some of the previous posts.....and....
C) it was the 80's! (that's my excuse)

Tornado Joe in "Out of Bounds" (really, there's more than one member - sittin out of frem on the bleachers). A group of us played at the basketball games off to the sidelines (hence our name). Dude, check out how scrawny I was - kinda fit the "heroin addict rocker" look -- without actually being on drugs!! :D

I used to be in a UK punk band called Eater - anyone out there heard of us?? It was dreaming that got me forming the band in the first place, no wonder I'd end up here!!! ;)
