I just moved from Washington DC to Göteborg...If anyone here happens to live in Göteborg, lemme know. I am friendly and would like to drink beer/coffee/tea with those I share interests with! |

yeah...they sure are attractive. I am going to school and trying to find a job, but the unemployment rate is so high here that it's a bit tough. I'll have to expend a lot more effort than I would in the states. |

Yeah, it's sort of counter-intuitive...The social benefits here are so great that it doesn't matter if you're unemployed--You still get to live as if though you had a normal income, because you get a normal income from the government (very high taxes). People here don't think it's going to last too long though, because too many people are starting to take advantage of the system, and those that keep working and paying taxes are basically paying for those who aren't working to live comfortably. |
