      Marijuana

O.K. A lot of the forum members (myself included) have admitted to smoking weed. I was wondering what your views where. Here's an example:

      http://www.infoimagination.org/ps/drug_war...s/mj_study.html

I of course do not consider this to be accurate. Which is to say I do not consider it inaccurate. There is about 20 million other websites that support the info in this particular website. As there is the same number of websites that claim it is totally wrong and that weed is bad for your body ect.

My personal belief is that it's taboo. I am in no way encouraging anybody (I've said this before and I'll say it again) to smoke. It is your desicion "Do as thou will". I love it. I have smoked it for a while, not as heavily anymore but the occasional joint or bong hit do me no harm. It was a "gateway" drug for me. I tried other drugs but hated them. People seem to be under the impression that everyone who smokes weed will end up a crackie.

So gimme your thoughts... right, wrong, neutral, or who cares let's light up. 8)

i have an addictive personality by nature, so i tend to avoid those sorts of things, especially since i want to be able to die with no addictions whatsoever...but weed is one of the few drugs that i believe is ok if someone can control their habits (unlike me)...i think alcohol is far worse

Do whatever you want, same with alcohol, but not too much else you wont be yourself anymore and might do things you later regret, seen it happen to alot of people. Used to do it sometimes, kinda grew out of it I gues, there are other things to feel good too : P (not drugs or alcohol tat is)

Well i'll say what i said to a friend recently...
For a long time, i hated the notion of smoking marijuana...i didn't try it until i was 15. But it was all because of my brother's presentation that i passionately disliked marijuana, in addition to other things that he first exemplified for me. It took some growing up on my part i guess, but i've come to realize that he's just your average materialistic, close-minded person (hence the reason we don't get along)...he can make anything look bad to me. So that's when i decided to see for myself. Since then i've really grown spiritually and that's how marijuana fits into my life. It's a spiritual experience for me - it widens my already-overactive imagination even more. In conjunction with meditation and peaceful observation/reflection...it's a wonderful experience that far too many are abusing. I'm as against drug abuse as anyone...but even the majority of people against it are against it for the wrong reasons. I believe it is something that can really help us grow if we utilize it properly. It's similar to the way "average" people abuse any other aspect of themselves or our environment - therefore, I wouldn't make it my place to tell anyone what to do and how to do it...even if i thought they'd listen...

I think marajuana can be good for someone say like 1 time every 3 months or so...maybe 1 time a month...but it's very addictive, and can lead up to worst stuff.

I never tried smoking it but I think its bad. I don't think its good to point to other things that are bad for you like alcohol and say it should be ok because of that. I personlly think people should be able to do whatever they want at home though, if they want to smoke go ahead. Just don't do it in public, and don't go driving while your high!

      My opinon

Yeah to whoever said taht is very addictive YOU ARE COMPLETLEY worng!
i've done alot of research on it and physically speaking it has no addictive effect. Now mentally thats a differnt story jsut like anything if someoine belives they need it then they are somewhat addicted. Also its not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. It can inspirational exhilerating and jsut a way to relax it also kills no brain cells (urban myth) if you know of the great simon and garfunkle and love their music as i do then you wouldnt be suprised that garfunkle who is at least 45 now jsut got caught with it. It also gives you a great perspective change that will probably help you understand people better whatever thats my opinon !

While it does not kill brain cells, it does however slow their working along with formation.

The upside of that is they are finding that it also slows the spread of brain tumors, cancer cells send out signals to the cells around them and they end up taking the bait and turn into cancerous cells themselves.. but while under the influence the cells are like a couch-lock stoner...
