Russian Films
Next month I have to do a report on a Russian film for my language class. I also have to describe elements in it that make it uniquely Russian. I know this is kind of a limited topic here, but does anyone know any good movies that I could check out. I'd prefer it to have English sub-titles, or dubbed in English if possible. :)
Thanks!

Hey Ame',
I'll ask my girl for you, there's probably a site for what you're looking for.
Btw, did you get the pics I sent? D.
This is the Russian Business Directory for the US. They list video stores under
books, audio, video. Might lead you to some other info. Hope this helps.www.rususa.com

I studied film while at university and can name a few good films for you to watch. There are some really interesting Russian (politcal) films, one i reccomend you watch is called Burnt by the Sun (1994):-
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111579/
Some of the older films made in Russia are interesting, there is a film called Battleship Potemkin (1925):-
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0015648/
Here are a few other films i know about:-
Man with a Movie Camera (1929) :-
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0019760/
Stalingrad (1993) :-
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108211/ *Good film to check out.
Most Russian films deal with politics so its always easy to find somthing to write about.

Thanks, MJ! I actually saw Burnt by the Sun during my first year of Russian language, but I'll see if I can get my hands on one of the others.
