Thread: avatars and sigs

I don't really remember what I've had for avatars and sigs, so you may have had one or two of mine in the past, Doc.

The ones I remember: Tabasa from SNK vs Capcom (I think), Gackt, Edward Elric from a Fullmetal Alchemist doujinshi, and my current Aeris from Advent Children.

My sigs are usually my own creations, though I've had Gackt there in the past, too. My current one ('Seme for Men') is a little joke between Lucius and I, hence why he has the 'Uke' brother to it.

I've used several different ones, but my favs have been done by blueblack or ian or Lomebririon

I personally like any of those at least smaller than 1/3 of the post in total. As long as they don't move. Yeah, you can call me boring.

I've actually been thinking about resizing it much smaller

The sig I have now is the first and only one I've had - but I've got some ideas for other sigs (all cat-related, of course).

My avatar is a pic I took of one of my cats, Titus. I've also used a big paw print in the past. I've got some other avatars that I may end up using in the future (also cat-related).

You'd think I'd get my fill of seeing cats at work everyday, but since they're my life, it's reflected in my sig and avatar.

Typically, I change my avatars often, but not to one unnoticable.
Usually, it is Fire Emblem Lyn, since Fire Emblem is my fav game, and franchise. Lyn usually deplicts what kind of mood I am in....but sometimes, I might swap to something to do w/LDing, ...?s, Video Games, etc.
As for my sigs, they vary, depending on my mood as well. Usually, they have something to do w/LD tasks, LDing, Killing spam, ...?s, Video Games, or something I accomplished!!

I don't quite see a point of images in signatures anyway. Avatars are fine, and mostly have size limits to make them reasonable, but what is the point of the limit when anyone can put a hugeass image into the sig (and a lot of people do) I don't get, just put a link there... And animated gifs are a story for themselves, obviosly people who use such a thing don't care much if others seriously think while reading their post, as that gets hard when there's a flashing thing on the side of it. Fortunately there are ways to disable it, but I must say I often just skip such posts anyway.

yeah I tend to agree with that

I used to be really minimalist in my sig and just had a link to my blog, and I was really satisfied with that

but every once in a while I see something that I just GOTTA HAVE in my signature for whatever reason, and when it starts to annoy me to look at it, I change it back to a link

although I must admit, I never get tired of "Mo naked hos!"

Haha! Me neither. I always hear Samwise saying it aloud and that just cracks me up.

I don't mind sigs at all, provided they aren't ginormously ginormous. In fact, sometimes avatars and sigs are a neat way to 'break the ice' with someone. For example: Ophelia, I noticed your avatar is by Suzi9mm. I'm a big fan of her photography.

See? Ice broken. Now let's go get some drinks and find us some naked hos.

That's the only other avatar I've had in my year and a half at DV. A pic taken seconds after midnight, New Years's Eve '03.

As for sigs...umm, I had one other one, also White Stripes related.

haha you know, that just reminded me of when Lomebririon had that "Lesbian Views" sig...I noticed it one time when he PMed me, and that made him stick in my mind forever. Before that I hardly knew him.
