Best notebooks for dream journals and other things?

Right now I'm thinking of going with some sturdy marble composition books for my DJ and other journals/books.

      What would you suggest?

      Thanks,
      -Jonathan.

Well, I'm assuming you are looking for things not on the computer...

The best thing there is probably the "raised lines" writing paper. This is great if you wake up in the middle of the night to write your dreams down, but don't wanna kill your dreams with a light. Also, the bold, wide spaced lined paper is good with a pen that can "light up" (and you can either cover it with some red plastic wrap or paint it with a diluted red to make it so it's enough for you to see the paper but not hurt your eyes. Remember that even the faintest light looks much brighter if you've been in pitch black for a while) so you can write in the middle of the night.

Then you can probably get a binder or folder for the individual pages and a clipboard to just pick up in the middle of the night to write on (it's easier to write on one page then hold 50, I"d assume).

I use those 5 - star plastic cover notebooks because I think they're awesome. The metal spiral is cold at night so i can find it easily, and the plastic cover is smooth so it's ok if you fall asleep on or with it.

You've assumed correctly- I guess I should have specified.

An interesting idea - where I'm sleeping right now I've got a nice small reading light near me, so it's not too bright.

Would a binder hold up, so long as the sheets that fall out are reinforced?

I'm not sure I totally understand your question. But I'm saying get a 3 hole puncher (you can get a small one for like, 2 bucks), a clipboard, and a binder. Put a piece of paper on the clipboard (or two if you think you'll need more space) before you go to bed. When you wake up, grab that and write on it (you can also get a lapdesk, but those are more expensive). Then later, put the piece of paper in the binder for future reference. You really won't need to reinforce anything considering it should up (all you'll be doing is putting paper in there and taking some out to put on the clipboard... it won't wear and tear).

I'm the marble composition book girl. As a matter of fact, I have several of them, color coded. That's irrelevant, but I thought I'd share anyway.

I have a blue composition notebook on my bedside table, and I keep a pen stuck in the page I'll want to write on. Often I'll make short notes if I wake up in the middle of the night and then go back in the morning and write them in detail. I also date the pages and the book, figuring if I fill one up and move to another, I'll be able to keep up with which one I used when...

I use a small notebook, it's hard back, and i get it for £1.50 from my local stationers. I tried another kind of notebook, and it didn't feel right!
Thanks for the tip about putting red over the light up pen, i'll definitely try that!!!
