Eh? :?
So, are we suppose to be focused on that, or are we permitted to post our own GIFs?

At last..
Well empathy is obviously lost on some.
What a "funny" twist of fate it would be for your future wife or daughter to end up the punchline of a similar situation...it's all comedy, right?
Actually...The girl did that to herself...Sooo...No sympathy for her...
i agree that the whole schiavo deal was a tragedy, and that this picture is fairly tasteless, but that doesn't mean that we can't derive any humor from it. if we couldn't derive humor/comedy from tragedy, 98% of the humor in the world wouldn't be there. most of what we find funny can be considered tragic from a different point of view, and most of what we find tragic can be considered funny from a different point of view.
edit: i suppose in some situations, it would be inappropriate to post something like this. but the schiavo family will likely never see this, and obviously Terry won't care, so no harm done. besides, humor eases pain.

The cause of her cardiac arrest has never been determined. For a time, it was believed that her cardiac arrest had been caused by an imbalance of electrolytes in her blood. On admission to hospital, her serum potassium level was noted to be very low, at 2.0 mEq/L; the normal range for adults is 3.5–5.0 mEq/L. It was speculated that her low potassium level had in turn been caused by an eating disorder; her medical chart contained a note that "she apparently has been trying to keep her weight down with dieting by herself, drinking liquids most of the time during the day and drinking about 10–15 glasses of iced tea". However, there has never been any hard evidence that Schiavo had an eating disorder, and the low potassium could have been a spurious result caused by the intravascular administration of fluids during the attempt to resuscitate her.
She did? How?Quote:

To Kage: I know, I know. The whole "One man's meat is another man's poison" thing, which is true in many respects.
I saw the .gif a while ago, and considering it's floated around the net enough to make it here to DV, I'd think there is a better chance that the family would see it somewhere down the road, if they haven't already.
But I don't want to sound like I'm preaching to anyone. If that's what someone finds funny, hey, more power to 'em. Having a daughter myself, though, all I can say is that if someone tried to turn my daughter's slow death into some internet joke, I'd break their f'cking legs. That's all.
Carry on.
i understand where you're coming from, O, and i'd probably feel the same way about my wife. BUT, i'd be EXTREMELY more pissed at the people who turned it into a national media frenzy and political bullshit than i would be at the people who turn it into an internet joke.Quote:

Heh. Can't argue with that.
glad we're in agreement. :) media frenzies and political bullshit are more offensive than internet jokes.

It gave me a chuckle.
I think it's a lot funnier on the original site. If you like narcissistic rants, try www.maddox.xmission.com. there's some very good satire on that site, just don't let it hurt your weak little feelings. ;)
