You Require:
* Not being a pussy
* A decent computer with a direct connection to internet, also it's best if it can be left on all time (so the website is up all the time)
* A decent security setup
* A decent connection- depends on how many visitors you expect/the use of site. For just your own images you want to link to, broadband would be fine. If it's a super ultra cool site with php all over the place, you'll need two T2 lines or something like that.
Now get the Apache HTTP server.
Install it.
Place your entire website, images and other stuff in apacheserverfolder/htdocs (remove all the stuff in there currently).
Get a dynamic DNS service (dyndns.org is good), although you don't need this if you have a static IP, everybody else will.
(or, if you happen to be running Slackware Linux 9.1, you can just type as root 'apacheconfig start' to start the apache server)
EDIT: Okay, that's a bit of an ass to understand. If you're really serious about it PM me and I'll go through it properly with you.
