Brutal Attacks--getting worse

OK folks, Good news, I've been having lots of Lucid dreams, I can basicly Have a WILD at will now. soo YAY me, right? well theres a problem. Thwarg--Rtex's Dictionary defines a Thwarg as a lizard/wolf/bear, with Cruel razor teeth, Power tail, intemittantly scattered patches of scales in the fur. Mean like a Viper, Quick like a cheetah, and powerful like a Bear. Aight, In most of my dreams, I take on the persona of a Elven guy, with swords and junk like that. I usually never use any projectile weapons, except for Bows, So, to the real reason of this post I have been attack Numerous times by these Brutal beasts of fury, and it is gettin harder and harder to defeat them. I have been BRUTALLY murdered multiple times by them.(I'm talking extreme VIVID pain.) Like, the other night The Alpha, ripped my thigh muscle in half with his teeth, I could feel each strand of muscle tear. with frightning pain and realism. I don't incur these attacks either. I have tryed using dream control, yet they don't seem to be affected. I feel confident now that I can handle them, but they attack recently have gotten MUCH more difficult so fast, that I don't know how many more nights of this I can take. I dont exactly know what anyone can do for me. I've done everything I know to do. its not like I dont want any challenges in my dreams, But once in a while I'd like to explore without having to fight off savage beasts. Soo, there ya go, that is my plight. I dont know if ya'll can help or not. But i'm giving ya'll a shot. Your fellow Lucid Dreamer Rtex

No kidding? I've had dreams like that, too! Those things jump out of nowhere and attack. I remember writing a few emails to a fellow dreamer about them too, telling him to be careful, just in case. (Yeah, I'm paranoid like that). I don't have any suggestions. I've fought one of them, but I didn't defeat it. I ran away.

If I remember correctly, LaBerge had something that wanted to attack him in his book. Someone help me out here with details. But what it boiled down to was some facit of his mind/personality that he had to deal with and when he had made peace with it, it went away. He dealt with it by showing love and compassion and accepting the 'monster' for itself. Maybe this is what is happening to you?

SeekerDave, I have read Laberge's book, And have tryed applying some of the stuff in there with no luck. But thanks for the tip. Blulanou42 I'm not especielly voilent, I don't go out seeking for fights if thats what you mean, And my first act of Real Brutallity was provoked by a thwarg. A Lost Soul Like, the same kind of beast? Or just a beast attacking you, and have they attacked you since?

Your environment, stable and uneffected by your will? cant change the dream or wake up? But you are fully aware and consious... Welcome to my world... those attacks are the worst thing about having realistic dreams... I dont even like to call them dreams anymore.. When you ask somone what a dream is they tell you dreams are all random stuff thrown together and dont make sense... Dreams like that make you feel like youve entered another world. If the attacks dont stop, if you go through your mind and try to resolve any issues you have and they still continue, then they may be external to you...I know some of you beleive dreams are just dreams all within your mind, but I dont, I cant beleive it anymore... So what to do... You cannot ever give up, you need to think matrix.. well not matrix... but morpheus's words... do you think thats air your breathing? You need to figure out the rules of your environment and learn to bend them, if you can before you encounter these things again perhaps try to conjure an a friend or a familiar, that can help you out? if you cant do that, then you just need to learn from each experience, you may end up dead but hey we got the infinite lives cheat in that world turned on. If you feel comfortable try a florentine style (two swords) if you find you get them tangled up with one another stick to one, one sword leaves you more open if your new to it, but in time, you will find its a very effecient fighting style, specially if you use a light sword... I dont care for euro style swords, Katana is perfect for me.. read about swordplay in books and online, see if you can learn anything, it may help you out in the dream, give you more confidence with the blade. You must remember one thing though.. keep saying it to yourself in your head.. even while you are fighting them... You are better then them, you can win! Try using magic... if youve an elven persona, remember, elves ARE magic... you just need to figure out how to use it during any down time you get, practice practice practice! I have faith, you will over come them... I know it sounds weird, but I will keep an eye out for you if I can =) A big platinum dragon might find a thwarg a tasty treat.. actually that might be weird... scales and fur? I bet they stink too.. snakes dont smell right to me and bears got the funk too...

Allright, Seriananth I SO know what you felt like in that eagle dream now. Hmmm, ok first off, I do use two small swords. I have trained in real life with them, and i'm pretty good actually,(i.e. I don't lose a pint of blood everytime I use them anymore!) As far as using magic, After school today I'll write up in detail one of my battles with them. Until then, trust I've used EVERYTHING I can think of, but anyhow. Thanks for the reply. once again, your advice is sound, and concise. Peace be to you Btw, I'll be looking for you. If you want I can send you a pic of what I look like, that way you know its me. Althoug you might not need it. you could just follow the trail of blood, and the battle cries.

Thats the tricky thing about finding somone... people can look like other people, the spirit, now thats unique, and well you cant take a pic of that... although one can get a feel from conversing with them =) Do those things smell bad? and whats the environment like deep forest? fields? what kinda trees and stuff. Sweet somone else that is actually into learning how to use their swords! =) I think its funny how people collect swords for years but never really learn how to use them... It such a great way to focus and relax

I do believe that your fear of these beasts is getting worse which will in essense give them the advantage in your dreams.. what you need to do is when you realize that you are dreaming, just make youself believe that you have abnormal powers and abilities. for instance, try the whole "matrix" bullet time effect... you can move much faster than them which will make it seem as if they are moving really slow. but remember you must really believe that you have these abilities or it isnt gonna work. have confidence

ok, first things first, Yes, they smell bad, they smell dried blood, and earthen mustiness? I dont know how to describe it too well, And yes most attacks come in close quarters battles. The enviroment, usually urban, the first attack came out of some kind of fog, or mist. But There is no particular place, more recently I've been attacked on rolling hills of grass, with a strong wind, Like the wind just before a storm, thunderclaps, and tiny bits of rain. Dark overcast with an ominous feel. Yup, I don't usually ascribe the word relaxing to my sword practice, but yeah, I know what you mean. my bro "collects swords, he has some tight ones, but I'm not allowed to touch them My philosophy is, If your not going to use them, why have them? :yumdumdoodledum: <--- THAT my friends, is a cool smiley face, Hmmmm, I don't think this is clear to some people, let me put it this way, If the dream is the matrix, then these things would be the agents, Just as fast, just as strong, able to bend the rules just like me, Almost as if their Lucid as well. I.e If I go into bullet time, and start moving extremely fast, They'll move fast as well. Don't get me wrong, I can change/control the dream all I want, Its just the Thwargs that aren't affected. I can/have cause(d) a bolt of lightning to strike them, But they seem to not be negate it somehow. So, I don't think confidense/fear is my problem. But thanks for your input. Concerning their names, it was almost like, I saw them and knew that they were Thwargs, like when you see an orange, You KNOW it is an orange. You don't have to actively decide that it is an orange. As much as we all may want to believe we can attain complete control over our lucid or non-lucid dreams, our subconscious can still be pre-dominant, wether you like it or not. Dreams is often theorised to be your subconscious attempting to make your life problems and issues illustrated and more clear to you by using associations of situations and scenario's and conventional empathy associated with it. Unfortunately, we can't always so easily understand our dreams and subconscious, so this isn't always the best way to figure out our life problems. However, in the sense of psychological viewing of dreams; a beast attacking you and you loosing a fight to it, typically signifies a lot of stress or a dramatic problem in your life at the time. Such a large beast, associated in your mind as something visicous and dangerous, could usually signify a problem such as... a problem with friends.. trouble at work or school.. a health problem you're concerned about.. etc. No matter how happy you may be in your dreams, if your reality is dejectful, it will appear in your dreams, even lucid dreams, wether your like it or not. Of course, I can't expect everyone to agree with me, heck, I don't even fully agree with me there, but it's another perspective that I see hasn't been brought up. I have always dealt with this type of situation by morphing myself in to a much bigger version of the beast that was attacking me and then kicking the shit out of it.

if i were you, RTex, i'd try to figure out what problem in your life your subconcious has decided it needs to turn into these beasts and resolve that...it seems like your subconcious is trying to teach you a lesson/make you notice something...generally when mine deos this to me, it only gets worse and worse until i resolve the problem in my waking life...i'unno, i geuss im pretty much repeating O'nus here...
