I didn't know if I should post this here or in the help section, but here's my problem.
I workout regularly and supplement on creatine and protein. The exercises that I do are;
1) Barbell curl (biceps)
2) Bench press (chest)
3) Close grip bench press (triceps)
4) Shoulder Press (shoulders)
I use heavy weights that I can only do around 10 reps with so that I build the most possible muscle. I like high intensity workouts because you know that you've done all that you can when you lift weigts to failure; and it's not as heavily based on stamina as running is or most other sports. I haven't got a lot of stamina, so I find that weight training is perfect for me.
Anyway, as you can see from the list above, I do not fit any workout into my routine that will tone my abs. This is because I want toned, defined, lean muscle on my stomach. And to do this, I need to do low intensity workouts like sit ups and barbell side bends which I don't like doing - or I will end up as one of those people with stomachs that stick out as much as or more than their chest which isn't a good look. I have a flat stomach with some definition from doing barbell curls, and weighted sit ups; the problem is that I do not have a full 6 pack.
I have been looking into those muscle stimulators and I had a few questions if there is anyone here who uses them:
1) Does the effect of using them last as long as sit ups or any other "manual" ab workout?
2) Do they work well, and would you recommend that I buy one?
3) Would they turn a relatively untoned stomach into one with any decent definition?
4) How much should you spend to get a good one? (I've been looking at one that costs about £30.00 [I suppose that's about $50/$60] but I've noticed that there are some that cost about two or three times as much.
