As a side-note, to my knowledge I have no russian heritage... but that said, I've taken quite a bit of russian history, and I'm a bit of a russophile, so, maybe that counts...
You can tell who the alcoholics are by the seeing who replies the most in this thread. ;)
Budweiser? Ugh. Budweiser is the number one proof that Americans have no taste in beer. Ugh... hate the stuff, it's so crap and characterless.Quote:

No, like, seriously though, how can you like Smirnoff? I mean sure. it's cheap, but, compared to good, proper Russian vodka, it just reeks of chemicals... it totally has no taste, it's... yuck. I challenge you to buy a bottle of Stolichnaya (which isn't that much more expensive) and try that, you'll see the difference. And, as for the infusions like the apple one... why pay more for cheaply flavoured vodka, when you can buy a decent bottle (Finlandi and Stolichnaya are very good, affordable vodkas) and infuse it yourself? It's way more fun that way, too.
hmmm, stella......
up to 5 is alright
after that, people start acting strange
imnsho hennesey is a complete waste. the alcohol content is the same as any liquor...and it doesn't taste any better so whats the point? A coniseur would laugh at me..
Although I did have some of the chepaer hennesey maybe the $1700 bottle is completely different..and insane good ( and it should be at that price.)
btw if you do buy hennes. Mix it with Redbull. Lil'Jon et al. do this...they call it Pimp Juice.

dear blue meanie,
thankyou for calling that guy out on his smirnoff nonsense. I appriciate that someone else wants to uphold at least a little Class among drinkers around here!...pfft...kid's these days I tellsya! smirnoff lol? jesus murphy!
:bigteeth:
I had a twizzler at a restaurant the other day. I think it was white rum, raspberry liquer and white grape juice, and it had twizzler in the middle of it. It was delicious.
That movie inspired me to try white russians too. Those drinks are the shit!!! I fucking love white russians. They're pretty stout too... one time when me and my friend were bored and drinking white russians, we decided to calculate just how strong they are. One 8-oz cup of that drink is equivalent to 4 beers :evil:Quote:

This is what "they" have decided a drink would be, for simplicity's sake. Apparently all of these are close enough together in alcohol content to satisfy "them."
So to be exact, one 8-oz cup of white russian (the way I mix them, equal parts vodka, kahlua, and milk/creamer) would be almost exactly equivalent to four 1-oz shots of 80 proof liquor. I translated this to beers to try and put it in better perspective for people, although technically four 12-oz beers at 5% alcohol would actually be more alcohol.
Ya get me? :D
Hmmm, interesting thread!
Cola and Rum, man, good stuff. At first, I was skeptical that they'd work well together, but I was pleased with the results ;) Most recently had a Corona now and then.
I'm not much of a hard liquor person, but I like Jägermeister, it's so unique in taste. My friends say it tastes like cough medicine (which I don't think is that bad, lol)
Once at a friend's party, they were serving the monster of a drink Bacardi 151, but I shied away, didn't think I could handle that, haha.
When I used to drink, I stuck to whiskey. Mostly Jack Daniels. And I stuck to Jack Daniels at first only because everyone else was afraid to drink it. :bigteeth:
Beer, I didn't have any favorite. I'd drink it as long as it wasn't lite beer. That stuff tastes like water with a splash of beer added to it.
Vodka, blaaaah. I hated it. The smell. The taste. Even the look of it. The only way vodka was allowed into my body was if it was in a Bloody Ceaser.
Wines, never tried very many. I do like ice wine though. It's wonderfully sweet and leave the most amazing taste dancing on the tastebuds.
Ahh, the memories....
:drink:
I love the taste of vodka, its like candy to me... which is why i no longer like it or drink it because it makes me do dumb things. Yes imagine drinking enough vodka that even the cheap well shit tastes like schnappes. I drank alot of vodka.. but no more... i stick to my Jack Daniel's like flies on shit.
<----- Hasn't tried vodka yet.
And for you who don't know, the english pronounciation of vodka actually means "cottonballs." If you want to ask for vodka in Russian, you ask for vOdka, with the long O.
And I'm honestly not much of a drinker, so I'm content with a couple of Bacardis (namely the green apple). If you think it's weaksauce, then send me something better because I don't have money for much else and I don't have a car to go out on my own. I also like Mike's, but that (and Bicardi) has to be very cold. If it's not freshly refigerated it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
And I only turned 21 in March and I'm not much of a partier, so I haven't had very much.
+ Kahlua and Cream....
oh dear christQuote:
