I think that this forum will probably have a pretty high percentage of people who've tried it because to be interested in lucid dreaming you most likely have an open mind and interest in altered states of conciousness.
So it probably doesn't represent the reality.

I tried it fairly recently. To be honest I don't think it's worth the risk of dying of lung cancer for. Now ecstacy is something else altogether :yumdumdoodledum:

Jesus, do you really believe that shit? No one has ever gotten cancer from marijuana. No one has ever died from marijuana. Im sick of this stupid propaganda.

Nah wouldn't want to try it either, because its basically abusing your body and addictive.

If it is true, then does anybody know what the risks are? - other than addiction.

Messes with your memory, costs a hell lot of money and it's addictive?

I've never tried smoking anything like pot, marijuana, hash, opium, cannabis or any of the sort. I've never taken cocain, ectasy, heroin or any of those sorts. The only thing I've tried, is normal hukkah-tobacco, so I've voted no

I am part of the 2% hurrr

Wow. Marijuana is only (phycologicly) addictive if you have an addictive personality. Masturbation is more addictive from my experience.

The only risk is if you smoke it often enough, you will become "burned out" and just sit around doing nothing. That is not weeds fault, its whoever is abusing its fault. Moderation is key. I know people who smoke everyday, and still aren't burned out, because they don't want to be.

Weed is most commonly smoked, and anything smoked is not good for you. But you can also eat it, and vaporize it.

"Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active
substances known to man." DEA Chief Administrative Law Judge Francis L. Young

Man you really need to educate your self and stop putting cannabis in with shit like cocaine heroin and opium. That is serious shit right there. Cannabis is so much fucking safer then all of those, and including ciggarettes, alcohol, fast food, and junk food.

When will people wake the fuck up and learn what the hell has been going on with cannabis in the last 100 years?

You're right. Virtually every single person that I know well has at least tried weed. The only downside that I've actually seen with my own eyes is getting the munchies and putting on a bit of weight. Although I've only seen this in one case and he was already pretty chubby so maybe he was going to anyway.

The cost depends on where you live. Where I'm from it's barely more than the cost of a pack of cigarettes. But to add to the cons argument, long term smokers apparently twitch like crazy after not having one for too long, although I know people who have smoked for years, and you couldn't tell them from any other person.

This thread cannot be accurate because of one thing - We arn't the common folks, nor "everybody". We are (most of us) teens/adolescents, and thus, this cannot be accurate. You need to enquire every age, race, whatever, to get an accurate view. D:

1) Messes with your memory? Only while you're stoned, or if you do it a lot. I had bad memory, but as soon as I quit and hadn't smoked for a week, my memory was back to it's old non-experienced weed memory before.
Costs a lot of money? Depends on where you live. Doesn't cost that much here.
It's not addictive.

Get your facts straight.

Yeah, I think it's becoming more clear how harmless cannabis actually is. My own biology teacher says that it's no more dangerous than regular cigarettes.

Damn I hate the word "cigarettes" it's too long. I'd usually say fag, but yanks would think that I was talking about paying for a pack of gay people - which sounds weird to say the least.

I have.

However, ofcourse the numner 98% is made up. As we all know, 72% of all statistics is made up. =)

Oh and cannabis is harmless. Kind of silly the US government make suck a problem of it. I am sure bush smoked it once. (He did mysteriously miss his medical tests).

If cigarettes, more adictive, and alcohol, more damaging to the body are legel I don't see why cannabis isn't legal... well in the US... in the netherlands it is

I was wondering, What class is cannabis in the US? In the UK it's a C.

P.S. Actually I don't know if you use the same A/B/Cish system in the US as we use over here. So I may not understand your answer, or maybe I'm just being stupid.

I think the main reason it's staying illegal is the inability to tax it

Tobacco is quite hard to grow
it's a picky plant that needs the right conditions
because of that, it can be regulated and taxed

Marijuana, by contrast is incredibly easy to grow
making it untaxable
why would you buy a pack of "Malboro Greens" (I'm copywriting that name, btw) for £5.00 when Harry down the road can sell some to you for £2.00

the government wouldn't be able to make it a tax revenue
(which, imho is why fags are still legal even given the fact that they do nothing for you)

in the netherlands it is[/b]
Its actually not legal there, it is just decrimilized. You can still get a ticket for smoking there. Weird, huh?

What really grinds my gears is Marinol (synthetic THC) is scheduale III, and you have to pay the government to use it. And they say it has no known ill-effects. While marijuana, is scheduale I, and you can be put in fucking prison for it. Not to mention they say it gives you cancer on top of a bunch of other bullshit.

The government is just out to make money, its way to obvious.

You're right there, look at "Hollands Hope", fast to grow, easy to grow, strong, fungus resistant and suitable for warm and cool conditions.

White widow is HUGE, where I come from. There are people who grow it all over the place. I often get it for free from people I know - which adds to your "untaxable" argument. You see people smoking fags (not gays&#33 all over the place coughing and spluttering, yellow fingernails, yellow teeth, and smelling absolutely discousting. Then you see a cannabis smoker smelling goooood with a huge smile over his/her face looking as healthy as anyone else.

I've got to take issue with the "no lung cancer" comment, though

any foreign particles inhaled into your lungs will increase your chance of lung disease (be that cancer, or less serious)
smoke (any kind)
car exhaust fumes
sawdust
etc.
etc.

there's all sorts of things that can go wrong
lung cancer, by and large, is caused by tiny spear shaped particles that lodge into the soft tissue, and stick

these particles are so small, and so sharp that surrounding cells are likely to be damaged by them

damaged cells can go wrong
and one of the things that happens is that the damaged cell divides when it's not supposed to - this is the start of cancer (abnormal cell division / growth)

(lung cancer can be caused by inhaling radioactive particles as well, or certain gasses ie. radon but these are far less common as exposure levels need to be very high to cause cancer)

however there's also major problems with negatively charged particles (they attach themselves to red blood cells, rendering them less efficient)
Carbon monoxide is the most notorious of these

I answered no, but there should have been a "no, but I probably will" response, as I plan on trying it in a couple years (but not becoming a pothead).
