Apparently today is the first ever OneWebDay. The purpose of OneWebDay is to celebrate the Internet and all the ways it has enhanced both our personal lives and society as a whole. So, in observance of OneWebDay, let us all share our personal accounts of how the Internet has changed our lives for the better. I would go first, but I'm currently between classes and don't have the time, so I will reply later.

The internet has done many greats things for me:
1. It allows me to communicate easily and freely
2. It allows me to make online friends (I'm a bit of a loner in real life)
3. It has provided me with knowledge, and lots of it.
4. It is a good cure for boredom (and I'm sure many of you will agree with me )
5. It allows me to shop without leaving my chair :chuckle:

Thanks to the internet I:
1. Stopped being a homophobe
2. Stopped thinking all drugs are horrible
3. Discovered music
4. Gained friends
5. Have access to unbelievable amounts of information and resources (such as this forum! :o )
So yeah, I think the internet has helped to make me a much more open-minded person, while at the same time it made me more of a skeptic - ie, I don't believe everything I read.
