Holy crap, awesome! That looks really tight.
A nice view. Looks like people never sleep at night. So many lights. Or maybe we're scared of darkness.
That looks really cool, shouldn't half of the planet have light though?

Wow Japan is lit to the max. Pretty nice :goodjob2:
You can see the Rotating Earth which is pretty cool also. Click the green play button under Earth.
that island off china is pretty bright for being so small.
looks funny how the lights in northeast africa follow the river
why is the southern coast of europe so much brighter?
That is cool.
I had this sent to me from my neighbor a while back. Notice the difference between South Korea and North Korea. :blue:
I've had that poster hanging in my room for years. Whenever I look at it, it reminds me of just how much power we have to change this planet and just how inequitably we've used it so far. But usually that only lasts for a second and then I think, "Ooooh, pretty lights!"
You cut me off!
You bastard, you cut me off! :(
how comes it, that on that ENTIRE map, the one country they cut off was New Zealand? :hakehead2:
But anyway. That, is a very pretty picture. Beautiful...
My favourite part of it is Russia... to be specific, Siberia. Notice how the lights follow a series of
"lines"? Like, they're following rivers or roads. All the human settlements are along those rivers.
I find that fascinating.
Wow. Good point.
The islands Taiwan, if I'm not mistaken. And yeah, about the river. I noticed the same thing with siberia.
North Korea is even isolated on that one. Jeez.
Sweet pic tho. :D
That's pretty damn cool, Ynot. :goodjob2:
heres another neat picture via google images :P

Hahaha. That's awesome. :cooler:
Never stopped to think about how defined the line between day and night would be, from this perspective. Cool shit.
OMG HALF TEH WORLD IS ENDING!
Man the Sahara is pretty impressive in that picture.
"That island off China." I thought he was talking about Japan lol.
 What's the tiny light off the southern tip of South America?
more evidence to support my theory that the earth it flat and that there is no time difference between regions.
woooah, coincidence just now on bbc 1 it showed a picture of the earth at night with all the lights n stuff :o
Coincidence.. Or conspiracy?
The plot thickens.
damnit! The Vallies have more light then us!
I find it facinating that you can more or less see the depth of the ocean, the continental shelves, etc.
.... and many of the lights in the US seem to be in straight lines. :P
Nice picture.
Allso fun to see how america, being about 5% of the world population-wise, yet they waste like 33% of all the earth's natural recources ^__^
The island off China is Thailand.
But take a close look everyone, as you are not seeing the developing human race, but rather the human infection. I always thought that civilization of the Earth looked very simular to one.
