      And to think: I found out about this asteroid on the first tv news stories they are doing on it, which began early this week. This article was printed back in Feb. On the news coverage I saw, they weren't talking about this "gravitational tractor," and were saying that NASA is actually planning to send someone up there, to land on the asteroid (which is going approx. 30,000mph, according to CNN) and try to find a way of knocking it off course.
      I wonder if they've completely ditched the gravitational tractor idea, or they are just weighing other options?

      Geez, that thing was like the size of a small moon.
      I imagine that the poor people would have felt a little like a bug watching as the shoe slowly fell...

      That was exactly what I thought when I watched it. I was thinking: "No way is that an asteroid... ah, its far away. It's proportion will change as it closes in on Earth." But Holy Crap that was big!

      Too bad they didn't show the several mile-high tidal waves up close. If a film ever has something like that (realistically, right angle, etc.), I'd definately piss my pants cold in the theatre.
