Hey Everyone!
My counselors recently met with my class to discuss a 4 year plan. It gave me a chance to see some classes available to me. One of them is psychology. (High School class)
My question is:
Do you recommend taking a psychology class?
I am interested in the mind, how it works, why we behave certain ways, etc, so I thought it might be interesting.
Please only take the poll if you have been in psychology class, teach psychology class, or study psychology.
Everyone else, please feel free to give your opinion in a reply.

I enjoyed the psychology classes I took in high school and college - especially the pathology aspects.
I'd recommend taking it if it's offered.

take it... if you don't like it... it can go towards a (depending on the college and university) social science credit.
i took psych up through the 400 level courses and found that the people teaching me had bigger chips on their sholders than those they advised.

I'm taking psychology classes, and I have to say it is pretty interesting and fun compared to the other subjects. So go for it.

Definitely, definitely, definitely take it.

I think it is pretty darn cool, and usefull. However there might be some boring parts to it, like learning some boring stuff, but hey, it can't be as much fun as dreamviews afterall.

Thanks for the replies!
I'm glad to hear it's at interesting as it sounds.
I might have to take a 0 period (starts at 7:30) though. At least it will be worth it.

I like it, it's where I first found out about lucid dreams. If you're into that kind of stuff take it, it won't hurt you.

I'm a psych major and when I was a freshmen I didn't know what I wanted. I took some tests that said I would be good in psych and now I'm in love with it. I'd been LDing since High School but now it seems there's so much more to LD's and Psychology and Consciousness. As an LDer I am making that psych course a requirement for you my friend. Have Fun!

I highly recommend it... I love Psychology. Its very interesting...

I highly recommend it!
I took a novice level of psychology course in college and you won't believe it, I even have considered majoring in that area, but what have stopped me was that it needed a master degree to get any decent job and I don't trust myself for being able to handle being in school for that long. However, major or not, I still recommend it to anybody who is into consciousness and how mind and behavior work together. ;)

I strongly recommend it, I'm doing it now and its fun and interesting.

Cool,
I'm going to take it with my friend (if we can get in the same class) so that will be great!

In my opinion, it's a course with quite interesting elements usually. The only thing I really dislike about it is how bloody generalized it all is. For example: "Crossing the arms indicates defensiveness". Who knows why someone's crossing their arms? Sure, defensiveness is a large possibility, but what about comfort? Personal preference? Maybe a good repor with someone similarily posed? There are many more examples of generalizations in psychology that really piss me off.
Apart from that, go for it.
