      Good ol' Snes.

anyone here play the Snes when it was still big (more like who hasent... *cough looser *cough ) yeah out of utter boredum I decided to create a thred on it.

My favorite game is Axelay. It was simi-rare and never got that popular but I still think of it as being the most thrilling shooter of all time. the last level is about the most fun I've had in any video game.

Next would be all the marios and all that popular crap

My favorite game on the SNES is Secret of Mana and then the Final Fantasy Series.

I plan the get it back from my brothers the next time I go home on leave.

      I only had 4 games:
      NBA Showdown(sucked)
      Mario(entertaining until you beat it)
Donkey Kong 3(Beat it twice and got bored)

And finally, Super Soccer (My personal fav, played it for about 10 years until I started working and was able to upgrade to PS2. I got so good that I am able to beat the secret Nintendo team, which was tough ass shit, by a 15 goal margin.)

Needless to say Super Soccer rocked and is my favorite SNES game(Played others besides those I own, but Super Soccer still beat them out)
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 3(6) in that order. the top 2 games i've ever played, and they both spawned lots of stuff (CT-multiple endings, combo systems, no ramdom encounters/FF3(6)-Tactical battles, super moves, etc.)

      Best games ever.

Oh yeah. Chrono Trigger was the bombdiggity. I loved that game. I also really ejoyed Secret of Mana, Super Contra ("let's attack aggressively!"), and FF6 (American FF3). LOZ: A Link to the Past also got quite a bit of play time in my SNES.

Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past was also one of my favorites....great game...

I don't know which one I liked better though, that one of the Zelda 2(forgot the name) for NES(despite the graphics). Both are truly amazing...

I wish I somehow could find the time to play trough all those classic NES&SNES games, I never really did I played some at family or friends, the ones I enjoyed the most where Donkey Kong Country, and there was a soccer game on there too where you could do brutal tackles and stuff, and played on icefields, it was really whacky I loved to play that with a friend.

I never heard of Chrono Trigger until a few months ago when i downloaded a SNES emulator for my mac, with 50 games. I didn't like most of the games and i said to myself "I want a nice game, like where I can walk around and talk to townspeople, with the kind of fighting that doesnt' require smashing buttons frantically" and I found Chrono Trigger...

I got stuck at one point, and decided to try to do a search online... to my GREAT surprise, there were thousands of websites dedicated to it, and then a few of my friends were like "YEAH! Chrono Trigger rocks!"

It was weird. I understand why so many people like it... it's addictive. I tacked on 5 hours of playing this weekend :-D. Of course, when I found out there were different endings, I started a new game so I could make a different ending! lol

Never heard of it before, but it seems pretty fun...

Anyone know where I can download the rom for a PC?

there's probably a couple million places you could get it. Try going to www.cherryroms.com , IIRC they have it there, along with every other SNES game ever released.

      Ah nostalgia.

I had all those emulators, sega, snes, NES, Playstation. Much fun to be had with many games.

I got secret of mana for my snes emulator. It was pretty good. But I didn't get very far before my old computer shat itself into a coma, trapping my games on there for aeons, until such a time where a brave soul would venture into it.

ah yes...i still have my original Nintendo & SNES. damnit i miss those types of video games...i can't even comprehend the craziness that is video games of today. IMO there's too much emphasis on graphics and detail and too little on actual game play: i hate most racing games now because they utilize seemingly almost all of the platform's resources to make the cars look realistic, but then the tracks and game play suck.

anyway..hrmm.. my favourite NES game of all time is THE LEGEND OF ZELDA baby. i still occasionally play that (after having to blow into the cartridge and NES for like 5 minutes to get the bloody thing to work).

      'k bye

I loved Kid Icarus and Metroid for the NES, as well as the Zeldas and the first Dragon Warrior.

I had a sega... *pauses to dodge thrown rocks and vegetables*

I loved it, there were so many great games. Here are all the best ones I can remember, in no particular order:

Sonic teh Hedgehog 1 through 3 (Including Sonic and Knuckles )
      Gunstar Heroes
      Beyond Oasis
      NHL Hockey 1995
These two mickey mouse games... (can't remember their names)
      This one Jurassic Park game
And a few others I can't remember at the moment

lol now that I think about it the majority of the games of that era sucked.
