If You Won The Lottery?

So if you won the lottery and became a millionaire, what woul you do/buy?

Lets say the budget was I dunno, £50 million/ $90 million.

I would buy a Ford Mustang and a Jaguar :cooler:

With a mansion with a swimming pool an helipad with helicopter ofcourse. A few big Tvs and a room for my friends to stay over. Maybe a few servants too but I'd be too kind with them and probably let them hang out instead of do what I want. Oh and I'd buy a house in other countries like America ect.

Give money to charity and family.

Then make the biggest Dv get together ever with our own limos ect. Ofcourse you'd have to pay an entry fee :P

First, I'd hire the services of someone who could help me manage my finances.

Second, I'd invest it into stocks and other business ventures.

Hmm. Well, I don't need any more then $14 million. I'd buy a nice big house, a couple nice cars for showing off (Ford GT & Mustang) and a Motorbike for personal transportation, and an SUV for family transport. Get some nice big 50" TVs. LCD, HD. :P

Then I'd begin giving. Gifts for everyone! :D I'd also probably give about $1 mil to 2 certain friends because... well, lets not get into that. Take a wild guess though.

Finally, I too would make the most kick ass DV meet up!

The rest of the money; Half would be invested, the other Half would be pocketed and spent on the necessities of life, taxes, food, and furniture and stuff.

Oh, if I had a million dollars....

Hmm... good question... what would I buy?

Well, I'd build a new house that was near town for convenience but set far back from the road so you couldn't see it. There would need to be a huge fenced yard with woods on either side, and private lake access. And of course, I'd have to have a boat for the lake as well. :D

I'd have a stable so I could have horses, maybe 2 or 3 of them. And a big horse trailer to take them up north for trail riding, etc. I'd have to hire a hot stable boy to mind the horses... :bigteeth:

Hmm, cars... well I would love a black Corvette Z06 in a convertible, but I think they only come as hard tops... and then something more practical like an SUV, maybe a Mercedes or Lincoln or something. But something with 4 wheel drive for the winter.

I'd still work, but only part time. I wouldn't be able to not do my job - I love it too much! :D

And of course help out my family and donate to animal charities and all that too :)

i'd buy lots of countchocula, fast cars and heroin.. and a big house...made out of candy, and heroin, and cars. Id also have a rocket, a helicopter, dragons, tigers, an aeroplane, a bee army, and my own personal army of the night. also in my spare time I'd constantly adventure around looking for treasure etc...and id dress like an eccentric millionaire, Id also buy count chocula's castle.

Id also wear a cape, most of the time but not always.

90 million, that's quite a big amount. I'd obviously put it all in the bank, so I could keep getting lots of intrest off it. I'd buy a nice house in the middle of nowhere, prefferably the one from When a Stranger Calls. Maybe start my own firewood business. ( I need something to do all day, and something like splitting wood (Physical activity) is always good). I'd buy a 69 corvette for style, a Ford Super Chief if it comes out, a snowmobile, ATV. Also the essentials, like a few big screen HD TV's, a home gym, and a big fridge full of food.

I would just live high on the hog of the interest earned. I am certain they would be willing to give you more than the going interest rate. So at 3.5%. along wit ha few CDs = $$$$$$$$&# 036;$$$$$. Then I could leave the windfall to my family and my favorite charities.

I would architect my own building and design my own landscape that would house my own art gallery/museum.
90% of the art from rising artist and mostly from my own community. Some possible exhibits to bring in bigger names.
I would have my dream job. Curator. Curator of my own gallery. :)
The gallery sales would not go totally to the artist. A percent would go to the local community to fund struggling art programs.

I will also give money to family and friends, and I will leave only a little bit to myself: I'll by a modest house with a yard, so that my cats will be happy, a small car, and I'll leave a little bit more money in the bank so I can avoid working for the next 2 years or so, during which I'll work on my music and my writing.

I would tell people on DV that something great happened to me, but I wouldn't tell them what, because I wouldn't want peole to like me for the wrong reasons, or think I was trying to brag.

I have heard one of the best things you can do is to put the money in a trust via a lawyer. This way your name does not get out to the public and every Tom Dick and harry wont be calling you for donations.

I don't know what I'd do. I'd most likely put 99% of it in a savings account somewhere and get massive interest over it before spending it. The other 1% (assuming it's 80 million Euros, which is about 50 million Pounds) would be a whopping 800,000 which is more than enough to have a lot of fun with for a long while, so I'd probably give some money to my friends and party. PARTY A LOT.

A friend of mine stumbled upon a large sum of cash once ($66,000 not too bad for an 18 yr old) and it totally changed both him and the way everyone treated him. He alienated his real friends, got taken advantage of by all of his 'new friends,' blew it all, appologised, and changed back to the same guy, plus debt. Seeing as how I learned from his mistakes, here's what I would do:

Bribes, lots of bribes, to make sure that nobody found out. Nobody! I might not do the strange things that my friend did, but I don't want people to treat me any different. I might move out of my parents' house, but I'd move into a modest apartment... something that I could afford with my job (which I wouldn't quit, but I might take on fewer hours). I would spend the rest of my days doing two things:

I would arrange for reasons for me to dissapear for months at a time, maybe a new job working for the government (I'd stay at the grocery store part time whenever I was in town, I like my customers and co-wokers) or something, when really I would be out seeing the world. I want to climb everest. I want to cause havoc for the chinese communists occupying tibet. I want to go sky diving. I want to own a hot air baloon and float around europe for a while, and then just give it to some guy on the street (I might park it illegally though). I want to see the Great Wall and Ayers Rock and the pyramids. I want to study the martial arts in quite a few countries. I want to own a submarine. And somewhere in the mix I'd find myself a nice girl from whatever country I meet her in, and take her on my adventures.

I would also spend whatever time I was at home (in Colorado, USA) arranging for nice things to happen to people who diserve it. My friends would find inheritance checks coming their way. Nice strangers (the type that let you in, in traffic) would find various baked goods on their doorsteps. I would spend $1000 on girl scout cookies just to see the girls smile (incognito of course).

And when it was all done my kids would have quite a surprising inheritance. I mean, how many people in Colorado do you think own a submarine?

I'd probably by an island somewhere in the Carribean. Then I would buy a helicopter, and nice car, 911 Turbo. The rest would go into savings and stock market. Likely Google or Microsoft.

Seriously, I would probably buy something luxurious but really over-the-top. Like, not a helicopter, a black hawk. The rest into the bank, for me to use whenever I want to buy pretty much anything.

I dunno what I would do. Probably come out of university debt free and give my parents some so they can pay off everything. Donate some to SPCA and PETA (I like animals). I would buy myself a nice house but nothing over the top and a nice sports car. I would then buy a mansion, hold a huge party, then sell the mansion. I guess I would find someone to help me invest the rest.

Whatever millions I still have left over after that, I would have invested so I don't go broke (many people who win the lottery end up wasting it all away because they didn't earn the money)

I've always thought of sending half of it to some charities (or keep it stashed and send it to charities when they need it, or when I think it's really needed (remember the tsunami? I'd keep it stashed for such kinds of charities...), and then pocket half of the remaining for when times aren't as well as now...

as for the rest: I have absolutely NO IDEA what I would do with all the money... a car, a respectable television, and a house/appartment of course... (I don't really know whether I really want a house or not... even an appartment sounds good to me)...

but after that... I really don't know...

Surrounded with trees. Ok now the house description. Swimming pool, with a 10 foot deep end and a diving board also a large hot tub. We would get a villa, over looking a pond and a meadow, Also a full Soccer/Lacrosse/Football/any other field sport, field, that is nice turf like my school and also has a track around it. A large house, that is a 3 story with a tower. Also a large garage.

In the house I would have a
--a bar, 2 pool tables, pinball machine, ping pong table and any other fun table game that I left out. and of course a T.V.
--a big theater/game room with a large , you know, theater screen, with couches everywhere and the latest games system separated out on 6 other high definition T.V.s
--3 personal offices, right next to each other
--1 large office with 16 computers, set up so everyone can see each other. To be able to play mmo games all together and pwn
--3 master bedrooms, 6 guest bedrooms,
--laundry room and shoe and wardrobe room (you know to hang up all the latest styles)
--Enough bathroom w/e
--one small kitchen and a one large one. the large one with a table or counter to eat at. The kitchen will over look the meadow
--a big round table room, like dining room
--gun room :roll:
--A very nice elegant room, with a piano and fine art in it.
--Maybe a music studio if that is any of our interest. or maybe an art studio
--A small personal gym, maybe outside
--alright time for the garage

-Chromed out big Black Escalade

On second final note, I would send money to my parents or even build them a house of there home. whatever they want. and when my brother finishes college he can come live with us!

WOW, I guess you can tell I have everything planned out. And don't think I am totally selfish I would also give a ton to charity and all that and DV of course. Yah sorry about the long post.

I would probably donate a huge chunk of it to charities. Then I'd pay off my mortgage, get a nice house (or ten), but none of that mansion crap....

I'd end up putting most of it into a high-yield savings account and live a very comfortable life off the interest.

Thing is, I'd keep it on the d/l. I don't want to change my lifestyle into the rich loser lifestyle (I'm visualizing some guy wearing nothing but underwear and a bathrobe, with lots of bling hehe). I wouldn't quit my job just yet cause I love what I do, but I'd probably end up going back to school.

I'd get behind Stem Cell research and Spiritual Healing research. Any of my friends who are having a hard time financially I'd bail them out. I'd pour a bunch of money into getting Medical Cannabis approved for ANYONE who needs it.

I'd go to every Auburn and Redskins football game. I'd have a home at a Beach ,New York City and Amsterdam.

I'd give enough money to my grand parents to repair their house, because they're trying to sell it because they can't afford the renovation, and it's really a heart breaker with all the memories associated to it...

I'd give enough money to my other, irascible uncle so that he leaves us alone...
I'd give money to a friend of my Mum whose husband is mad and threatens to kill her so that she can move away, buy her own house and find a good job.

I'd buy and renovates houses all over Cornwall, England, Ireland, Wales, Brittany and Scotland and turn them into cheap Youth Hostels... Really cheap, like £3 a night, so that anybody can afford going on holiday...
I'd have a theater in my house, and a swimming pool in a green house in the garden.
And I'd try and create a new species of cats based on mine and his family.
