Unhappy

I was watching television and it suddenly dawned on me that there are certain things that creep me out
(heck.. even the "thought" of them does).

1) the sound of a swarm of flies!!
2) Walking and my face hitting a spider web!!
3) Walking into a swarm of those flying tiny gnat like things that hover a few feet above the ground (what ARE those things)?!?!

Anyone else have things that creep them out (be it logical or not)?

Walking barefoot in the lawn kinda creeps me out. I used to do it all the time when I was little, but for some reason, I don't like it much anymore. I always think I'm gonna step on something sharp. I still do it occasionally, but I prefer to wear sandals or flip-flops or something.

oh yeah, and swimming in ponds and lakes is not my favorite either. For some reason, inhabitants of the pond/lake are attracted to me and every time I set foot in one, a get nipped by fish and turtles - it's extremely weird. So I prefer pools because I know there's nothing stalking me from below...lol

Burns, I totally agree.. only I don't like going barefoot "anywhere" outside for the same reasons!

As for ponds and lakes.. uhhhhh nah.. that's why man invented swimming pools (and chlorine)!!

Oooh I just thought of another thing!

Being near the "edge" of a high building's roof, open window, etc..

I have an extreme fear of heights unless I am enclosed in something or there are high bars/railings that I can't fall (or get "pushed" thru). Let's just say that I always think "what if I fell?" when I look over the edge of something high up and sadly I don't trust "anyone" enough to let them near me on the roof of a high building or an open window!!

I don't like it when I stand next to my bed barefoot when the lights are off. I just get an odd feeling that something is going grab my ankle.

I absolutely hate swimming in the ocean beyond the point where I can do a floor check (go into pencil formation and sink until you touch the ground) because I constantly feel like a huge shark is going to fly up and chomp me in half or a dolphin will shoot up and body check me in the stomach with its nose. Ugh!

..And, of course, the spider web thing.

I think those are no-see-ums. Seriously, that's what they're called. I never swim in the ocean, I always think sharks are going to attack me without warning. Casualtie, I feel the same way about being barefoot next to a bed. (Saw that movie Boogeyman when I was little; it grabs a kid's ankle and pulls him under. ) Anything with roaches make me feel all creepy crawly for the rest of the day. (They could be on me!&#33

Agree about the standing barefoot next to the bed thing!

This reminds me of another one!

I can't stand to have anything hanging from my bedroom door or bedroom door knob while I'm trying to sleep. For example a "robe" .. in the dark it kinda looks like the silhoute of a person.

Casualtie, too much Bill Watterson for you. Something under the bed is drooling! Seriously, you've got me feeling freaked about standing close to my bed barefoot now...

Anyway, for me, it's heights. Or rather, grounds. See, it's not the height that'll kill you, it's the ground, when you hit it. But I can't stand to stand close to those huge floor to ceiling picture windows in tall buildings. Makes me feel like if I lean up against them, or fall, the glass will give way, and I'll fall. Completely irrational, I know, but that's me for you.

Got another one....

When you are walking or out riding a bike on the street and someone drives their car by REALLY SLOW. I sit there for a good 20 seconds, thinking, "Ohmygod, ohmygod, are they going to stop and get out? Then what do I do?"

Heights, I could never be high up next to a window. Also when I was younger I couldn't stand next to tall buildings, I had a fear of uncontrollably floating up in the air.

I also hated walking past large groups of people in the dark, I some times feel like I'm going to get stabbed

for me it's pitch blackness, my room is never really pitch black because of street lights.

Because i used to have alot of nightmares i see anything in my room as something horrible. Say i stare at a crunched up top i was wearing, its a human head or something. When i look at patterns on my wallpaper, i see little faces and stuff. When i look at model dinosaurs it will look like they just moved a tiny bit, that kinda thing.

Another thing is when i'm sitting in a room with my cat in it, especially when it's laying on me. My cat suddenly stares at something, though theres nothing there and sometimes it starts hissing or getting scared then runs out of the room really fast( one time the door was closed and it smacked its head ), still scary.

Being in a church by myself. I used to participate in church functions when i was younger. Sometimes my job was to shut out the lights and everything after it was over. And when it's pitch black in a church and walking down a hall it has the tendancy to creep me out. I almost feel like I'm being watched.

I hate when buses drive past me when I least expect it.

Walking through a dark church kind of creeps me out, too...

Even though the likelyhood of experiencing this isn't high, I'm extremely creeped out by the idea of torture. It's wierd because I'm not as afraid of myself being tortured but of others. I can't stand the idea of someone I hold dear being harmed in any way! Even my favorite TV/movie characters....

One thing that creeps me out is the ocean at night. Sometimes I used to stand at the end of a pier and look down into the black water slapping at the pilons below....then imagining myself suddenly falling down into the water. Totally scary.

Meal-worms aren't so bad; lots of protein.

Clairity, I blame you talking about spider-webs, and watching part of Castaway where he's eating a crab, for having a dream about a thread with a crab on it getting on a book I was holding! I totally realized where that came from when I woke up! Too bad I didn't get lucid from it, I should have! Then I would be thanking you.
