Weather - Great topic idea!
Oddly the temperature from the gulf last year was warm enough to develop hurricanes before the season even started. So they went on to predict a major hurricane season. Thank fully it did not happen.
This year?
Here is my preliminary guess. After some research I will likely change it.
No matter how many we have it would be hard to distinguish if it was from global warming or natural.
Disastrous is ??? too. You could have a category 4 hurricane, but if it does not hit a populated area.. well. anyway.
- Four hurricanes total
- One tropical depression
- One category 4 hurricane, hitting lower Florida and moving east and downgraded to a tropical depression over the lower peninsula of Texas.
- Two category 3 hurricanes. Second, Close to a category four then petering off to hit land from Savannah Georgia to South Carolina. Quickly diminishing into lots of rain.
- first category three hitting again near upper Florida but late in the season. Rides up North to the Eastern states. causing A lot of flooding over a wide range of states over all causing the most monetary damage.
That was fun!
Let's do tornadoes next.! :yumdumdoodledum:
Actually, It doesn't make it more likely. It just makes everything alot more powerful. So, storms you normally wouldn't look twice at turn into monsters. And the monsters turn into..... yeahh......
Dammit howie, you a meterologist or something? Those are crazy predictions. I'd be amazed if alot of it comes true.
Well, unless it was an F5, then you are probably screwed either way.
Yaaa. Maybe I went a little over board. But I have always wanted to become a meteorologist (The cards just did not fall that way) But it led me to study weather in great detail. I am a weather geek for sure. :chuckle:
Here is a cool Post started back in 2004 Weather geeks
Actually I don't think many people realize that natures way of doing things, while often destructive in our eyes serve a purpose.
Hurricanes are like GIANT air conditioners for the earth. The heated southern hemisphere gets transported to Northern hemisphere regions, cooling them of and making both hemispheres more temperate.
