I know what you mean, I got up early today and left for the bus stop only to be late because the bus driver needed the toilet.
I guess that IS pretty itonically... Maybe not as ironic as a coffin falling on a kid from 6 floors high, but still.
Anyhow, good thing the Ambulance didn't have to bring along another person (you).
You better watch where you're going, Exo! Don't get run over! o_O
Didn't it have it's sirens on or anything?
Well as long as you don't try and burn the fire department down for revenge you'll be ok.
How could you possible be that close to be run down by an ambulance? In Denmark, you can't miss them! Blue flashes, ridiculously high sirens and they are big, white and with red stribes.
But good that you didn't get hit. It sucks to have a broken something, or to be dead for that sake.
That can't be known until you are dead. But it is unknown what is going to happen when one is dead, so it is definately scary.
Usually here you can't miss them either. Not Blue sirens, but Red and White, and usually loud as hell. Problem was that (a) it was obviously going extremely fast, and (b) the intersection I was crossing(large, busy lane 4 +2 turning lane road), after a little further it curves and goes downhill passed a plaza. Even though its only the slightest, if a vehicle is going fast enough it'll catch you completely by surprise. Which is what happened. I was about mid way through, starting onto the second half of the road when I saw a flashing gleam in my eye, looked to my right and just stepped back quickly as it passed merely inches infront of me. It caught my friends (some who were a few paces behind, and a few forward) off guard as well. Apparently the look on my face was priceless
Actually it was in the British news a few days ago that a two year old had got run over by a runaway ambulance after it had been parked on top of an incline. Not one of the best ways to go.
I almost got run over by a fire engine once after I called 999 'cause I found a burning car in the street. It took a corner quite wide and I had to jump back. Exciting stuff.
