GED was meant for war vetrans. If you go get a job without being in a war, they won't hire you with a ged. They almost prefer you just have no school.
you live in russia right? are you talking about russian GED's (if they even have 'em) or are you familiar with how it works in the U.S.? i am a tad confused :?
GEDs will mess things up for you in the long run. You are looked upon as less intelligent, even if you have higher scores than one with a High School Diploma. It's hard to get a scholarship, and if you want to join the military. Your going to basically get stuck with the Army. Marines, Navy, and Air Force will only take a few GEDs, if any at all.
Also, it is harder for you to get any rank to start off with, and you will not receive a sign on bonus.
I know this because I have a GED. My parents took me out for home schooling and I taught myself. I couldn't get a scholarship, even though I had high SAT scores. So I went for the military. I scored a 86 on the ASVAP, which is the test to help you find a job. If I had a high school diploma, I could have had just about any job in the army I wanted, but I had this GED. THe only reason I had my current job in the army is because they were hurting for more soldiers in this area. I got no bonus and I came in as the lowest private (E-1) there is.
I graduated from my job training second in my class, besting even the guy who came in with a Specialist (E-4) and $65,000 bonus. He had two bachelors degrees.
My advice stay in school, and get your diploma. It saves you a world of hurt.
Well can't say I know too much about GEDs but I doubt doug lives in Russia. Besides, that flag belongs to the long dismantled Soviet Union. :wink:Quote:

What do you wanna do after getting a GED?
U can still go to sum colleges. I'm not sure how important a high school diploma is after graduating college...
well i wasnt really planning on going in the army or going to college. right now my goal is to become a free lance artist.
Either that or I can become a professional lottery winner... ;)
Yeah, I live in the states now, and was a born citizen, but lived in Finland for a long while, and I'm going back after I graduate. But I belive there will be a New USSR, carried out the right way, as an effect of capitalism in the states.
Oh and by the way: military will not accept GED's anymore. This is a fact.
What part of the military? The army was still taking them up until two weeks ago.Quote:
