It's very math based. There are only a certain combination of things your number can be on each page. For each possibility of a number, there is a corresponding shape, and on each page, they are matched up differently (as in each time you do the activity). Im not very good at explaining things, but it's a very simple set of math equations. I'm bad at math and I still figured out how it works.

      *spoiler*

the answer is always a multiple of 9. all the multiples of 9 are the same symbol. It'll always get it.

The only other bit is they change the symbol for the 9s multiples each time you reload so you don't end up noticing that it's always the same.

I couldn't figure it out at first, but I got it eventually. Very cool though.

I got a better one, you won't ever be able to understand how this works but still do it.

take any two digit numbers then times by one and then subtract it by the two digit number you came up with.
      e.g. ((11x1)-11)
      Now here is you're number

      you're number is 1

Well if you times by 1 nothing happen so you just make up a number and subtract the number. Leaving you with 1.

WTF?!^ that's obvious. Here's one for you, try dividing something by 0, tell me when you get a definite number.

      1/0=1
      1x0=0
      so 0/0=1

      Uhm,

      11-11=0

      Uhm,

Sounds good but 1/0 is not a valid fraction. If you divide 1 by 0 you get zero divisions. If you have 1 of nothing you still have nothing.

      Hence: 1/0=0.

      And similarly: 0/0 still = 0.

      Nice try though.

      Actually, the universe destroys itself.

As regards to the original test this thread was about, if you really want to impress someone with it, you make them play it, but before you click on the ball you get 'em to 'look in your eyes' as you also 'predict' their symbol. It really freaked my sister out.

Yeah lol wendy... you mean 0, not 1...

Illusions are pretty cool, especially math based ones. I'm somewhat of a magician myself and self-working tricks always saves you after a few sleights and everyone is watching you closer than you'd like.

Would you believe that I was a semi-pro magician when I was in the 7th through 9th grades? I was. I did close-up and stage shows. Mostly stage shows for functions ranging from birthday parties to business events to library shows to a bunch of Boy Scout functions (such as Blue & Gold Dinners, Eagle Scout ceremonies, etc...)

Those were the good 'ole days. I was also in the Central Florida Magic Club for 6 years.

Actually, 1/0 is invalid. There is no such result for that, and saying it equals 0 is a false statement. 0/1 = 0, but 1/0 = undetermined.

That's what I'm saying - that there is no answer for 1/0. No answer. The only answer you could use that won't yield an integer is 0.

That's why I said these words:
