Logic Questions :)
Friend told me this maybe you guys know it too
First Question:
A slave need to bring equal amount of gold to his master every day for 7 days, if he wont he will die. The slave got 1 big block of gold, he doesnt have any special abilities. The salve can cut the block ONLY twice and he can do it very accuratley. The master is blind /hint /hint How will he survive?
Second Question:
A blind old man got 4 capsules of medication, he doesnt know what is wich he cant tell the diffrence between them in any way, the medications are mixed. The man has to eat 2 DIFFRENT capsules twice a day, if he will eat 2 of the same kind he will die. How can he be sure that he will 100% eat the right stuff?
Answers:
In the first question the salve will cut the block of gold twice so that he will get 3 pieces of gold diffrent size:
if the block of gold is 7/7 = 1 then the pieaces are:
1/7
2/7
4/7
first day: 1/7
second: 2/7 ( take back the 1/7 the master wont look )
third: 2/7 + 1/7
forth: 4/7 (take back 1/7 and 2/7)
fifth: 4/7 + 1/7
and so on...
As for the second question the old man will just eat half of every capsule

Well, actually, 'equal amount of gold'...? 0=0. Zero equals Zero :) But that is a bit far-fetched... Nice riddle besides that, but the stealing part is a bit.. illogical. And how do you explain to the master that the 'new' 1/7th you brought 'merged' with the first?! (the 2/7th piece)

he's blind
kick him in the nads and run away

I can tell that there's no logic involved here, just maths. I cant be assed with that.

Can't you just ask somebody?

ok, in answer to the first question. The slave has one big block of gold, that he can cut into three equal pieces. He has to give his master equal amounts of gold for seven days. His master is blind.
So: give him half a piece of the gold on one day. Go back the next day, and interchange the first piece for the second. then, the next day, give him the third piece. he'd never know the difference, cos he can't see!!!
although, i don't think it's that easy after all!!!
The second one's got me stumped.

1... Give him the same block each day, By cutting it he can get a max of 4 equal blocks, I don't see that working.
2... He can't, he is only 50% sure

The master is only blind. He can still feel the weight of the gold.
