That would be cool except I hate tea :p

I know, but we are English, so we have to; it's the rules...
Mwahahahaha!
Here's another topic about meeting DV members :)
I think it would be cool to meet a DV member. I've made some really great friends here and I would like nothing better than to meet them in person. :)
The only people I've met have been Je33ica when I was down in San Diego in '05, and Mickeys Elbow... because he found my DV card when we were at school.
There are a number of people I'd like to meet and hang out with. A "convention" would be fun if we could have some stuff planned ahead of time so we didn't succumb to the "Um, well..." syndrome that often plagues conversation. I like to see what people act like behind the computer, and not just how they type. Don't we have a "What are you like in real life" thread somewhere? I though we did...
I agree ame. a convention or summit would be fun.maybe a few in the states and in canada. That would be a lot of $$ tho.
I wouldn't mind meeting someone else to talk about lucid dreaming with. It's a really fun subject, and nobody else I know in real life does it, so I'd certainly welcome it. Assuming, of course, that it was someone groovy.
I'd have a drink with anyone passing through Northern VA or DC. If you get too annoying, I'll just stick you with the check. :D
I would fly over to the states for this, any excuse :p lol.
And same goes for anyone 'passing' thought Brighton in the UK - Shout if you here :D
The trouble is there is an age gap between some of the members, which isn't as much of a problem on the internet but is different in real life. I personally wouldn't go to one as this is a seperate part of my life that, in my opinion, should stay seperate. I think that I'd also feel really self-conscious as (as far as I am aware) I am one of the younger members of DV.
That would be really weird, but so cool. You people are sort of like fictitious characters to me. Seeing a group of you in person would be like watching imaginary friends turn real. I would probably be in shock the whole time.
I don't really know. It could work, I suppose. I'd definitely be willing to meet certain of you. ;)
I live about an hour and twenty minutes away from Van, but unfortunatly I dont have a car, well I will be living there in two years so maybe I will get the oppurtunity then.
I can't believe I didn't see this thread earlier.
I would LOVE to meet you guys. I'm a much more self confident person than I was a few years ago, so I can be the official ice breaker. ;) But I can think of a few members off the top of my head who I'm sure I'll just click with right off the bat.
What I've learned in my short year or so of adulthood is that age stops mattering. When I was, say, 15, the only adults I was comfortable being friends with were... my parents! All that's gone now, as if it was a different lifetime. My boss is in her 50's and I so desperately want to hang out with her! :p So unless you are very very young, you will not have a problem with age.
Oh what fun it would be, and there must be tea because i like tea.
WARNING: If anyone meets me in person, i may come on strong, it's what i do lately, if your quite i quiet or shy person, it may scare you.
Me: " Hello new person! So, let us tell each other about each other"
New person: " Um..."name", a sentence or so max"
Me: " Oh cool, ok so im joe and.." about 100 sentences which i then use to branch and go completely off topic about really random things, i'd end up talking about how different sizes of oranges reflects condensation in our atmosphere or something ridiculous, all from the fact i like rowing, trust me i'd get there somehow"
New Person:" Wow......"
Me: " Na na na no! I haven't finished speaking! Let us all go back top my house for a sleepover minus the sleep as i prefer that environment, but i warn you there all be sexual inuendo from me no matter what movie we watch!"
New Person:" You've only known me a day and you want to invite me over for a sleepover?"
Me:" YES I DO!!! I WILL FEED YOU I SWEAR!! also i will give you drink that is fizzy if you like that, i dont, i dont like the feeling in my throat with very fizzy drinks, also i can't drink them fast enough as i like too. In summer when it's hot id prefer to drink fast, i prefer like apple juice, thats super nice, but also i like apples, which is like the only fruit i like. You know i hardly eat any fruit, i'm surprised im not dieing of scurvy or something, though i guess i do have quite a lot of veges so that'll ake up for it mostly...back ON TOPIC."
and that's how it would go, crazy and scary but you get free food and such!:D
Okay I vote we hold the convention at joey's!!! :p
There's a convention at my place every day, but I'm the only one who ever seems to show up.
*Brings the drinks and then shimmers into the shadows* :p
*from the shadows* Drink my pretties, drink :D
ill bring the choloroform
I am indeed the guy in my avatar.
Well, Superman, not Christopher Reeve. (whom I thank greatly for portraying me so well in the two Superman movies. Too bad there weren't more...)
