Fashion - DO you try keep up?

I know some people like to be in this seasons clothes, others not to fussed etc so wondering what your views are?

I was out this weekend, and noticed a lot of guys were wearing baggy trousers (pants to you guys accross the pond) and tight tops, is this the next thing in fashion?

I mean I like to wear the Ck boxers, and a nice Sartoria suit, but I wouldn't go to the extent to finding out what 'colours' or 'styles' are in etc...

Just wondering if anyone else does? Do ou follow fashion much, or just has happy in jeans and jumper, not fussed about the makes...?

      (love it)

Well, i wouldn't call myself a fashion guy, i don't keep myself up to date and worry like some, i tend to just buy most my clothes from "Next" and Topman, they tend to have some cool things in, if it looks good i'll get it, i don't worry about whether its the latest thing.

My brother is quite a fashion guy, he's got tons of clothes that he bought and never wears anymore, seems pointless, in fact i think i may steal some of them since i rarely get bought clothes at all

I would, but there's always a kind of unspoken rule about what not to wear and what to wear at any given time. If wish somone would just come out and say them, then I'd be all over the seasons fashion.

I've never understood 'fashion'... Why would you want to be the same as everyone else?... (And that's what I think when I'm having a good day)...

When I'm in a bad mood, I hate fashion... It makes me sick... How everyone wants to look alike... How everyone is so desperate to be 'part of the group' or whatever... I mean... It's fashion around here (apparently.. I never meddle with troublesome things like fashion... It changes every few months or so, so why bother?) to wear friggin' BLACK DONNAY JOGGING TROUSERS... What the hell??? Are we trying to be rappers or what?
      I HATE FASHION!!!!!!!!!

I especially hate 'fashion' when people start criticizing me... 'That's sooo uncool/that's so out of fashion'... Even the look in someone's face that say's (/insert B*tchy voice here/) 'ooow my god you look soooo unkewl' will make my insides burn with fiery hate... Makes me wanna slap the guy/gal (or 'b*tch, when I'm in a bad mood)... But luckily, I'm not that short tempered... It's just a thought...

Yeah... I have a thing against fashion... Or the 'mainstream music'... How you're uncool when you like music without lyrics, movie or video game soundtracks, or J-pop, or world music, or even classical music, when you like anime, when you like GOOD movies, like drama's instead of what? mindless action movies?... Makes me sick... Makes me wanna punch some sense into people... But luckily, I have a (much) larger fuse than that... Phew...

I dress the way I WANT... In the clothes or hairstyles or music, for that matter, that I LIKE... I'm not a cow, for goodness' sakes, I'm a HUMAN, AN INDIVIDUAL, I define myself with what I wear... Have you ever seen a shy gangsta boy?

I hate huge sunglasses too... It's supposed to be fashion... But everytime I see one I'm laughing on the inside at how STUPID it looks... SUNGLASSES AREN'T MADE TO HIDE HALF YOUR FACE BEHIND... SHOW SOME SKIN!!!

So: Why don't you let me stay with my dress shirt 'n jeans... And not critisize me,
And I'll let you stay with your Gangsta Shit, and I won't bother to tell you how stupid you look... How your 'I've got to be part of the group' monkey-pack mentality still hasn't left your family while evolving, mmmKay? F*ckin' herd animal...

      ...

      Allrighty then...

And that's my (quite temperamental ) view on fashion...

      So: Peace!

      ~ CD

P.S. I'm not into fashion... Nor mainstream music... In case you were still wondering...

P.P.S. No offence meant towards all the people in here who actually ARE herd animals... eerrhmmm. I mean... people who are into fashion ... It is by no means personal... I just don't like it... mmmkay?

Yes, I think fashion applies much more to girls than boys as there is more variation. Personally I don't care for fashion that much and prefer it when people dress uniquely/eccentrically as this makes more of a fashion statement then wearing what everyone else wears. Currently all the boys at my school think jeans, loafers, a black jumper and colourful shirt (from Topman) looks great. On its own it's not a bad look but when you see all of them together at the same time it looks like just another uniform. Also fashion is so temporary, I remember when it was only surf t-shirts that were cool, and they aren't cheap either.

meh. My whole wardrobe basically consists of "relaxed fit" blue jeans and "tagless" plain white t-shirts (the kind you buy in a 5 pack for like $10, Hanyes I think). I have some nicer clothes for occasions, heavier/lighter clothes for different weather and such, but thats basically it. And I wouldn't have it any other way, except for perhaps plain t-shirts in other colors.

I have my own sense of style. My favorite outfit that I've ever worn was a dress that my mother got me from goodwill...it was a brownish green color, with beautiful multicolored embrodery all across the chest...Short, with long sleeves...I coupled this dress with bright pink tights. Fashion sucks

I keep up with fashion for the most part, but I don't buy really trendy stuff. Nothing funky. My style is more natural-hippy-ish, so I like earth tones and comfortable fabrics. I don't shop for clothes very often so I try to buy things that aren't super-trendy and will go out of style in a week.

I think more of practicality than fashion. In the summer, I wear light clothes and shorts and in the winter, I just wear something that won't make me get hypothermia (yes, the weather is a big influence up here). The only thing I'm really picky about is shoes, I must have the absolutely best pair of running shoes (one of the few articles of clothing that actually improve with price).

I hate to be so blunt but, "fashion" is the sirens' call of the gullible. Fashion is nothing more than what's being advertised that week. The executives at the clothing bosses sit around and decide the next season's "fashion". I don't know about you guys but, to me, being fed a line of BS about what I must buy this week doesn't sound much to me like the natural evolution of clothing popularity. What it sounds like is the force-feeding of products to the easily-swayed, commercialism puppets (i.e. the fool-hearty public that believe every line of crap fed to them in ads).

I, for one, couldn't care less about fashion. Nor could I care about this week's pain reliever, car polish, slang, song, or any other thing that commercialism shoves down the collective throats of the impulsive, non-thinker. Popularity only means "out there in your face". It doesn't mean "the best", "the most fitting" or "the one more people would choose if all advertising conditions were equal". Why do you think the pop radio stations never play the best song from the good albums. Certain things are shoved down our throats and it's almost always for the wrong reasons: money.

Remember, if they weren't shoving this sense of urgency and dutiful change, how would the clothing giants stay in business? It's nothing more than a way to "artificially" drum up business. The notion of some holidays being manufactured by greeting card companies comes to mind. Some bigwig and stupid TV commercials says you must have it and you can be sure the mindless masses will take the bait. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy, not a true consumer-driven trend.

In short, no. I don't follow fashion. A fool and his money are soon parted.

Fashion? Nah, I wear whatever I think looks good on me. I wear shirts that are three years old because they're still retaining colour. I buy shirts seldomly... it doesn't matter if they're 'preppy' clothes or skater clothes or what. I don't classify myself in a fashion 'genre' (or whatever the fuck you want to call it) and save myself money because of it.

I am definitely with Cryo and GH on this. I wear whatever the hell is comfortable, and most importantly, FITS. I can't stand the kids that wear their back pockets on the back of their knees. I saw a guy in the mall yesterday wearing shorts that were almost touching the floor, and he had to bend double to reach his pocket. If I see someone wearing pants that fit, and a t-shirt that isn't ten sizes too big, I just about want to go up and shake their hand. Unfortunately, that's not very common these days.

So no, my usual clothing is jeans, whether regular or relaxed fit, and a random t-shirt, usually something from an Old Navy sale or just a white undershirt with a short-sleeved button-up over it, open. If I'm not going out, or just to pick something up quick, I may wear BDU pants and a t-shirt.

I agree, I laugh walking around the shopping centre seeing guys with their asses hanging out. I like to wear fitting clothes too, I mean all my t-shirts and jeans are fitted. I do own one loose fit pair of jeans, which are so god damn comfortable!!!

Although I am not affraid to admit, I will buy designer clothing, and do spend a lot of money on clothes, shoes etc, but hey, its my money and I earn it, I take pride in my appearence and if 'I' like the look of something I will buy it. I try to buy things that other people tend not to buy, hence my need to upgrade my phone every 6 months.

I am like a girl though when it comes to my wardrobe, I have about 4 pairs of shoes (different colours to match my jackets/suits) 5 pairs of trainers, couple of pairs of football boots lol. About a douzen pairs of jeans, too many tshirts to even count, and as for shirts and trousers.....

I have 2 wardrobes and 6 big draws full (of clothes, not just trousers and shirts lol)

Theres no shame in that, nothing wrong at all, maybe you just care more about your appearance that others do, which is fine to do I mean personally i will just wake in the morning and not even bother to dress if 'm not going out during the day lol. And if i am i don't sort out my hair or anything, i just leave it sticking up at one end after sleeping lol. My clothes annoy me though, they always fit perfectly in the shop and when i get home and wear them they always are out in some way.

Thats alot of clothes btw, i only have half a wardrobe and a draw for my clothes
