I'm not european, but I have been following this tournament very closely (Big soccer fan). It has been excellent. Great goals, great plays, great games. I am loving it so far, and am glad to work where I do for this sort of thing...

that's all I can say... but hey, that's ok. Even before the match I thought, of course, it would be best if we won. But 2-2 would be pretty funny, just to see the Italiens go nuts :finger:
For those not knowing anything about this, the italiens has been convinced for days that denmark and sweeden would play a fixed match of 2-2. and the match ended 2-2. And whats more fun, we haven't played 2-2 since the 70's or something like that. So, looking forward to the news tomorrow...
But congratulations to you... we'll just take you later in the game
My motherland lost... (Spain). So now I just wish luck to the remaining teams.
yea, i read that the italians threw eggs at a danish ambassy :DQuote:

My motherland, Czech, are rocking ass, I must say. I wish them luck.
Personally, I am supporting every single team which plays England. The commentators over here are English and they are unbelievably biased. I don't really give a damn about football, but this pisses me off big time.
Then you will be happy to know Portugal just scored its second goal, during overtime, against England...
And a great goal too...damn this cup is quickly becoming one of my all time favs..the goals have all been really something...
I know, I was cheering. They are beating England. W00t!!

[edit: Sh...... no they aren't.]
I know!!!! The british just scored...a couple more minutes and that game would have been over...that or if they still had the golden goal rule...
FREEDOM!!!! ...FROM THE ENGLISH COMMENTATORS!Quote:

[u][i][b]UPDATE: AS OF THIS EDIT, ENGLAND ARE OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS!
It was a game definitely not for the weak of heart... my heart is beating faster than it has in a while... and I'm not even Portuguese or English.
yea, the game was a real nailbiter... i wonder what the heart-attack rate is in the both countries?
where are you from truthbearer? and where do you work?Quote:

Really funny Techboy? Care to look at the little flag under my avatar etc?
Damnit! We're out......... According to my grandad we technically won, but the referee thought we pushed someone or something, I dunno, I didn't watch it. I could hear the yells from the other room
Ah well, I'm not a football fan anyway, i'd rather play it than watch it, and i'm really bad at that. The ball hurts if it hits me, so I tend to dodge, or accidentally automatically catch it, both of which are a bad idea.
Anyway. I hope someone good wins. It would be sweet if portugal won, since it's there, and that would make them happy.

The game was in fact a very close one at that...the penalties were pretty exciting...
I am actually from a country in North America, but am currently located in a country in central america(I'll keep you guessing...just cause I am bored), and work at a sportsbook...so as you can guess sports are a pretty big deal here...
You work at a bookies? C'mon... share some odds for the Copa America. :D
Sure......hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaQuote:

Horrah, England is out. Thank god, too, I was getting fed up of hearing "EN GER LAND" all the time.
Yeah, and I was fed up as well. I went on a school trip and it was one of three songs that was played there. It made me so sick and annoyed that I really badly wanted England to lose. Really Badly. And the commentators! Jeez! Biased? Don't even start!
I ain't trying to offend anyone, but I laughed my ass off when Beckham missed his kick from the spot. I hate Beckham, I hate Real Mandril.
Sure why not?Quote:

Which team will win the 2004 Copa de America?
Brazil +300
Argentina +250
Peru +400
Colombia +700
Mexico +800
Paraguay +900
Uruguay +1000
Ecuador +1200
Chile +1700
Costa Rica +2000
Bolivia +2200
Venezuela +2200
If you don't know how to read lines, that pretty much means that if you bet $100, you'll get whatever amount the line is for. Example. Mexico is +800. So you bet $100 to get $800. You can also, obviously, bet $10 to win $80... :D
Of course I know how to read lines... I think. :D
You have better odds for Mexico than they do in Monterrey. Of course it's biased to make Mexico look better, and somehow "encourage" people to bet and get their money. Whoever said the odds are always in favor of the house was not bullshitting. I learned that the hard way.
Feel sorry for whoever bet on France today. :-P
do you know the odds for euro 2004 ???
French dude had 2 million dollars. Started gambling.Quote:

Ended up with less than 3 pennies to his name. The odds are always in favour of the house - or bungalow. They have to be, otherwise they'd be out of business.
Unfortunately, I'm off from work for the next 3 days, and finding them in the site takes time, which I am too bored to spend
Anyway, the house always has the advantage basically cause there is a great amount of people that bet both sides. Lets say 200 people bet on each team. One of the teams win. Since the house charges a 10%juice( You bet 110 to win 110, etc) then, eventhough the same amount of people won as the ones that lost, the house takes in the juice...
