My hubby and I don't have any kids so these critters are our babies I can't imagine when anything happens to them, but since I am in the veterinary field, I feel that I have more control over their healthcare than I would otherwise, which is comforting.

That's Lucky Dog. She was rescued about six years ago. She's a sweet, gentle pal, my constant companion when I'm not working and occasionally even when I am.

She's a herding dog, and takes her role in our household very seriously. The only time she's dangerous is when people walk in uninvited or if she thinks one of us is being threatened. She doesn't attack, so long as the one approaching either stops or retreats - but she does let you know that it isn't a good idea to come an inch closer.

A couple months ago, my sixteen year old son and I squared off in a sort of slap-boxing match. Lucky intervened... on Joe's behalf. I had to back down.

She'd die for our kids.

She came from the second litter of kittens that our old cat, Betty, had. Betty then proceeded to become psycho and we got rid of her and gave the kittens away to good homes Anyway, from the first litter, I had named a similar-looking cat "Sugar." This one was "Powder," and if Betty had had another littery, I was going to name one "Flour." For some bizzare reason, they changed the name to Monica.

Anyway, she now lives at one of my friends' house as when we moved my parents didn't want to keep the pets or pay the deposit. It took a while for her to get used to his house, but I'm glad that I still get to see her whenever I go over there... to play video games with his little brother.

I love her so much, but have a bad habit of wearing black when I go to visit.

She's gorgeous, I don't see many torti points in practice. She's very unique!

Cute pets pj and Ame!

This is my dog, Shadow. He's like 10-11 years old now. This picture was from a year ago. His grey hairs have really flaired. He's annoying as hell, but I love him!

I love the pictures!! All these guys are soooo cute... I love the bunny especially, I've always wanted one.. and Burns, Titus is particularly beautiful! And PJ, that is a sweet story!!

This is Kesha, pronounced Keh-sha. He is turning 12 Sept 1st! I've had this guy since I was 9. He's pretty much the man of the house, gets whatever he wants, whenever he wants!

It was hard to photograph him because the minute he saw me paying attention to him, he started doing the paw thing (forgot what that's called) and turning his head from side to side.

He would totally let you too! He's such a baby! He's so affectionate! He gets scared during thunderstorms and he has to sit with someone and be held lol.

Mes- It's funny that your cat lays on your computer monitor! I think cats with orange colored fur are the prettiest!

Aww, Zooni looks cool! My sis took in a bunny that her husband witnessed someone tossing out of a moving car and unfotunately had to give it to someone else. It just didn't like people at all (who could blame the poor thing).

Meggy - My cat is also named Shadow . I've had him forever, I think he's 12 now. Here he is after we reintroduced him into the wild (no more complaining neighbors). He doesn't want to come back in anymore !
