      LD4all

Yes, I know the ld4all forum has already been discussed several times in other threads, but I think it deserves a thread of its own. And since we have a thread named "Dreamviews" over at ld4all, I find it only appropriate that dreamviews should have one about ld4all.

So, what's everyones opinions on ld4all? I'll admit that it's designed in a kind of akward way, all that crammed up text on the main page(and lets not forget that huge eye, hehe). But I really enjoy posting on the forum, it's such a friendly and helpful athmosphere over there. And to all of you who have gotten the impression that we promote the spiritual aspects of LDing.. We don't. I think it's just the design of the site itself that makes people think that way.

And by the way.. How come you people post so much more than we do?

i like both forums, both are friendly and both have their own characteristics. both sites have the necessary info and to me it's a matter of presentation. i find the dreamviews info/forum easier to follow and more in depth but that may just be because this is where i learned it. either way, both sites are a good source for information.

i don't like the mentality that we're in competition however. we were formed separately and flourished separately... the fact that we now have a few "bridge members" doesn't change things. we'll both continue to grow and do our own thing.

both parties have put a lot of work into their communities and both parties should be proud of what they've established.

p.s. i think we post more because we're all post whores and have no life.

I've visited it once and here was my impression

      -Forums are slow
      -Disorganized forum
      -Annoying eye
      -Forum is HUGE
      -People are nice
      -So much information.

Well that was my take on it. adidas makes a very good point though. Both are generally friendly and have the necessary information needed to LD. It's all a matter preference. I find that this forum is already hard enough to keep up with. Both combined would be deemed impossible .

Oh yeah. It is true. We are generally a society of postwhores.

      Yeah, what they said mostly.

I had a choice of these two forums originally, and while ld4all seems to be better for the amount of people and thus knowledge,... It feels less friendly to me. And sifting through all that information is just way too time consuming.

DreamViews feels more like a home, where ld4all feels more like a 'get some info once in a while' forum.

So DreamViews is simply my preference.
I still look around ld4all when looking for a particularly elusive topic.

I found the ld4all forums first, but I prefer this one. Just a matter of preference, I guess.

I agree though, its not a competition... ld4all is good in areas that we aren't, and vice versa. It simply becomes a cultural or 'feel' difference, and leaves it up to personal choice of what a person prefers.

This doesn't mean we should destroy what we know of as dreamviews in order to compete with ld4all in their good 'aspects'
That would be counter productive and silly.
Both sites co-exist, and it seems to have worked well so far.

I went to ld4all first but then landed up here.

Ld4all has a more liberal (Not talking about politics) community then Dreamviews.

See, you would never see posts like the last two in LD4all(made by site administrator and mod, respectively)...that is why I love this place...

I want to have Seekers babies...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
