random stuff on icedawg's mind that pisses him off

      1. there's a girl at work who apparently is making herself ill over trying to lose weight. supposedly she's starving herself, which i think is an awful thing to do since the body will utilize muscle for energy first before it dips into the body's stored fat cells; what's more, she doesn't even need to lose weight. thus, she's just making herself very weak by doing this. the really sad thing is it's thought that she's doing this for her boyfriend. why would anyone want to be with someone who just constantly made her feel bad about who she is? i suppose sometimes people just don't feel good enough about themselves to even realize they deserve better. i just think it's sad that she can't find someone who can help her feel good about herself...there's some really neat people out there who can do things like that without even putting forth a discernible effort to do so; somehow their aura itself seems to exude boundless warmth.

      2. i'm sure we all know people who are with someone just to be with someone; i hate that. i just don't really understand that...i mean, i sort of do, but quite frankly i'd prefer be alone than ever find myself in a situation such as that. people in these situations are selling themselves short and are missing out on more than they'll ever realize. the girl mentioned above is pretty well in this situation. her boyfriend recently cheated on her--and the girl whom he went after apparently pressed charges against him (but later rescinded them)--which of course devastated her, but she stayed with him anyway! that just really makes me mad because there's some mistakes that just should never be made. we're human, of course, and we need to make mistakes so that we can learn from them, but again i feel some are so deplorable that we should be able to avoid making them. i seem to have a special gift for making mistakes, but even i could never do something that horrible.

      3. 'King of the Hill.' grrr...

      4. people who say "i could care less"; here's a clue: were ya tryin' to say "i couldn't care less?"

      erm...that's enough for now.
Each new day is a chance to turn it all around.

I have no idea why some people are like that either. Some people are really dependent on the funniest stuff and go overboard with it (like the perfect image), or they are afraid of change.

it's a social thing. you can do things and go places with a girlfriend/boyfriend that you can't with a girl friend/boy friend.

people make a mistake when they let the girlfriend/boyfriend treat them pourly. but if one's not feeling the negative impact of the relationship i don't see a problem...*

*please note, as humans, we are stupid and block out these "negative impacts" and never see a problem with the relationships. *raises hand* i'm guilty of this.

but yeah there's nothing wrong with a superficial relationship, as long as you have no dellusions about it.

all the opinions of a n00b.

      My thoughts exactly.

Something that is really pissing me off is the fact that humanity, (and the media) focuses mostly on the negative aspects of a situation or problem...for instance the Iraq war...there are many positive things in life than they focus on, and it makes me blow my top that every time you watch the news you get in a mood from all the negative bullshit...which New York Times will tell you that 80% of the media is falsifiable...bullshit basically....

That's how the media works. It captializes on sensationalism that focuses on the negative, "shocking" information. This probably is going to screw the system in the long run but who thinks that far?

I hear you about the nice girls with asshat boyfriends thing. It pisses me off to no known extent as well.

The media plays on fear and uncertainty. It has always done that.
The best times of your life should not be when you're still so young, or else you'll live a life always dreaming of the past.

I think the best way to find something out is to go experience it first hand. Then it's your experience, and you've seen it with your own eyes and felt it yourself, you know what it is really like, with none of the bull.

Still, it's impossible to go do that for everything.

      Icedawg= New, more sensitive Maddox....

I agree with every single thing in your rant. All I can say is one must rise above it all, stop caring about the things that truly do not matter and just focus on being who/how they want to be despite what everyone else does/wants them to do/expects/etc.

I wish we had more poeple that thought this way... the world would be a better place
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

I believe that some girls feel that they need to be with someone(anybody) than nobody. The ones I've ment are really dependant on others.

I don't want to anyone to take this as offensive, but what the hell is it with going to the bathroom? Almost all the girls I know NEED another girl with them to go and if they don't find anyone, then they don't go at all.

Another thing that I see to much is that girls(in highschool) claim that they are in love with their b/f and that they can't let go of some one even if they are complete jackasses and keep hurting them. Hello! you're only 16, what the hell do you know about love?

i think you answered your own question there... they're 16... they don't know what love is so they build up a mental image of what it is... and all they know is their boyfriend...

what's sad is they form the idea that they need to be around that person... no matter how physically or verbally abusive they are... it doesn't matter... the abuse becomes apart of their view of love. -- the closest thing i can think of is stockholm syndrome... where you come to identify with your captor... the human mind is a sick sick place.

indeed...particularly in this case: she often goes gallivanting across the bridge (into Detroit) w/ him for parties. i generally feel, however, that the psychological and emotional harm far outweigh any social benefits one may reap from such a relationship...at least, again in this case.

exactly, and that's just as true for some guys as well. anyway, i hate that; be with someone because you want to be with that particular person, not because you feel your life is not complete if you're not with anyone.

The only thing I dislike about King of the Hill is the portrayel of stereotypes and that Hank is an Ignorant Redneck American from Texas. Luanne is the Ditzy Blonde. Bobby is the Girlish Child who's Also Fat. Boomhower is the Conspiracy Theory Neighbor.

Unless you were referring to the film we had to watch in History class (entiteld "King of the Hill") focused around life during the Great Depression...
