Exactly. How sensitive can those people really be? They were raised to take offence to everything and everyone that doesn't bow to the idiocy they preach. They are raised to take a militant approach to impose their views and traditions on the world. A lot of people think I'm paranoid, making leaps in logic or blaming innocents. But the problem is right there in our face - the world's face - and until we wake up and have the courage to identify the problem in a straightforward, no BS manner and get our collective head out of the sand, we stand no chance of any kind of long-term success. |

Yeah. |

I forgot about this story. I find it really disturbing that people seem to look for reasons to hate each other. Religion can be an easy excuse. It only makes me want to live even more peacefully though. |

People promote their religion in order to promote the actions that they support. The Middle East has suffered through dozens of grave injustices in the last century, and groups have continuously emerged that support violent resistance to each new enemy. Over time, religious rationalizations for violent opposition became accepted practice in some areas of the Middle East, and that opposition has taken the form of what appear to be frivolous and trivial disputes, though what is actually occurring is a knee-jerk cultural reaction to what is perceived as an attack or a prelude to an attack. |
|
It's more than just the Middle East, which I agree has suffered due to colonialism, etc. There are also millions and millions of moderate Muslims thru out the world who never say a word against the actions of the fundamentalists, and they share some of the responsibility for that reason. |
|
Thank you. That's precisely my point when I say that the non-radical Muslim base needs to stand up and say "Hey, they don't speak for us." And they need to speak out against the evil acts being perpetrated by the in-your-face extremists. After all, how are we supposed to believe the Muslims who claim to be innocent standers-by when they only fuel the problem by remaining silent. |

I think a similar demand must be made of Christians in the western world. We hear that a lot of mainstream Christians oppose violence committed in the name of Christianity, but it is not nearly as vocal and emphatic as it should be. Bishops, Sheikhs, priests, imams, and rabbis should all be united in their opposition of murder committed in the name of religion. |

Did you know that those Danes that drew supposedly offensive islam related cartoons now have bounties on their heads (from Al-Qaeda I believe)? Nothing small either, in the tens of thousands of dollars (and a bonus if they were "slaughtered like a pig"). That must... suck... |

What the fuck is terrorism? |

We should probably hope that they don't unite. That could only be bad if they joined forces; rational people would have even less of a chance of changing the world. Not that I have much hope as it is. |

That whole thing is bollucks. She goes over there voluntarilly to teach kids and the teachers ( on how to teach ). The kids name the stupid thing Mohammed and she gets the blame. Now there are people outside the prison chanting for her to be hung. If my crappy excuse for a country had any balls we'd get her out there ASAP! |
