I'm sure you're all thinking up hilarious responses
so I'll spoil it by saying
you're either tired
or you have something in your eye
ive had it for 4 days running and im not tired, and sometimes the pain is terrible and the pain seems to be slowly spreading.
hmph regardless of any posts he may make, i don't think teasing him about something which could be serious is very good practice..
Is the pain in one part of your eye and feels like it's on the surface, it could be you have got some dust or something trapped behind your eyes?
( this happened to be with a shaker of pepper, hurt for weeks, horrible..)
Also do you get any head aches with it? I mean i', not trying to jump to worse case scenario but bad eye pain especially if it feels like it's coming from the back of your eyes combined with head aches, could mean some kind of pressure or fluid build up.
I'd suggest you go and see a doctor if it hasn't cleared up in a few more days. In the mean time you should try thoroughly washing your eyes, maybe get some eye drops, just in case something small is trapped in your eyes.
Hope everything is ok bud.:)
The pain is on the same part of both eyes, there is a headache type feeling between my eyes.
Dreamhope, if this has been going on for four days already, I think it's time to have it checked out by an optometrist or physician. I had something stuck in my eye for two days before it went away, but if it's not gone by now, then there's probably something more serious going on and I would have someone take a look at it. At least they'll be able to tell you if it will go away on its own.
And the other unhelpful posts have been removed from this thread.
I definitely agree with the advice to go see a doctor. It's probably nothing serious, but at the same time it sounds like it's only something a doctor can fix for you. Don't put this off any longer!
Thanks, i don't think anything is stuck because it's in both eyes :(
blocked or inflamed sinuses can cause the feeling of pressure behind the eyes
you probably just have a cold
Yeah, my eyes started hurting like that a few years ago but it was a gradual build up. Do you wear glasses? If not you might need them and if you do, you might need a new prescription.
I dont wear glasses, if i can put it to percentage of pain its 80 left eye:20 right eye..... this pain appeared over night, and i doubt this has anything to do with it but... ever since it came i keep going off balance and dizzy.
cold / inner ear problems
go see a doctor just to be sure,
but a few lemsips will do the trick
Yeah, if it is messing up your balance and making you dizzy it sounds like something is throwing off your equilibrium and I think ear infections can mess with the rest of your face, such as leaving you with an aching jaw/teeth and maybe your eyes. Set up an appointment with your normal doctor and have him take a look into it, if he thinks you need it he'll likely suggest a visit to the eye doctor as well.
Go see a doctor. If you're also having headaches and dizziness, skip the optometrist as it may be something else and the eye pain is a symptom.
Personally, I'd be a little leery about medical advice from the internet, but that's just me.
i can feel the pain spot on both eyes, they are both in the same place, and very painful to touch.
just to add sometimes i can see blobs flying about.. weird!
have you told your parents about this?
it's been four days!
Lol maybe you don't like worrying your parents but it hurts a lot and it isn't going away there's a problem man.
I really think you should tell them and be honest that it has been going on for four days. Maybe they could drive you to the GPs?
I say, GO TO THE DOCTOR!!
My BEST girlfriend, that I spent almost my whole life with, has a bad thing about getting styes. The styes are usually around the tear duct and what not. It SOUNDS like that is what you have, if there is one spot that is very painful compared to the rest. I've had a few styes before, but without medication they can get serious. My friend was a prime case of thise. She ended up having another Stye, and kept it for about 4 months. Come to find out, the stye had harvested a staff infection, and the staff was heading from her eye to her brain. She had to go get it surgically removed, and watched close to make sure the infection didn't come back.
Any kind of infection close to your brain can never be good (IE. eye, nose, mouth, and infection in the skin and so forth). If gone untreated any infection can continue to inflame and cause a full on viral problem.
If you are getting dizzy and lightheaded, that could either be a FALSE syndrome (where your brain plays tricks on you when you worry about something [you've been worrying about your eye alot]) or a true syndrome, and if it is a REAL syndrome (don't take any chances though, go make sure whatever it s ISN'T bad) then that means you are having neurological problems, which could be a number of things.
The doctor is your best bet.

Oh and also... if you are THAT worried about telling your parents.... you can go to WalMart and buy some stye medicine. The medicine is CALLED stye. A Pharmacist or local employee should know where to get it. If you use this and it doesn't start feeling better after a day, then the doctor is your best bet. Also if your eye is kind of swollen, take some motrin for the pain. Motrin decreases swelling and is a type of ibuprofen just in case you are allergic to any Tylenol product.
(EDIT: I just noticed you live in England, but if you go to any local pharmacy, and ask about a stye medicine they SHOULD have an over the counter product. I don't know how the medical system works in England so I'm not sure if that's one of those medicines you will need a perscription to)

Marie is would there not be any side effects if taking it without suffering from the condition, things can happen.
This could be many things and because of that, I highly suggest either elaborating for us or using the symptom checker here:

Let us know how it goes!
