I fought with my best friend a few years ago. We had grown up together, so we were more like sisters than anything.. i.e. just kind of stuck together. Anyway, we were out on her front lawn, throwing each other all over the ground, rolling around, that kind of thing. It was great. We were pissed as hell though.

I've never really been in a fight. Only a little jokey one.

I was in a lot of them when I was a kid, but never against anybody who wasn't really asking for it. The funniest one happened when I was in the fourth grade. I had just turned ten. There was a twelve year old sixth grader on my block who was the local bully. Everybody was afraid of him, and he messed with everybody. After a while, I decided that I had really had it with him. One day he started pushing me repeatedly for no reason. I tried to ignore him, but he kept doing it, so I got to the point where I was right on the edge of wigging the Hell out and attacking him. He sat down and said, "I'm just going to sit here until you do something." So I stared at him for a few seconds with extreme rage in my eyes while he did not pay any attention to me. I finally snapped. I got a running start and kicked him in the face as hard as I could. Then I jumped on him and hit him in the face as hard as I could over and over as fast as I could. After a little bit, I stopped hitting him. Before the fight, we and another kid had been playing "guns". Right after the fight, he had no idea what to say except, "Will you help me carry these guns home?" So I did. When we got to his house, he very politely said, "Don't tell anybody about this." But it was too late. The other kid that was with us told the entire neighborhood what happened. After that, the bully never messed with any of the kids in the neighborhood again, as far as I know. A few years ago, I found out he ended up becoming a cop.

Well after 10 years of competitive martial arts, I've been in quite a few fights . Outside of the sparring ring however, I do my best to avoid physical confrontations (I've been known to take a punch in the face without retaliating a few times). Any real fights I had in high school were very short-lived. Once a guy threw the first punch at me and I got him in an armlock and slammed him into the lockers, then I elbowed him in the face and he dropped. Another time some guy pushed me when I had my back to him, I just turned around and punched him in the ribs, which quickly ended that fight. I had to talk my way out of a knife fight once too that could've been ugly ... That's all I can remember right now.

SO I GUESS ITS MY TURN.

The creator of the thread becomes a replier.

Anyways.... Um, hows abouts a twofer for you guys.

First one happened in 8th grade. My best friend at the time and I were staying over my other good friend's house. It was around midnight, and my friend's mom had gone to sleep, and we were just sitting there playing games.

My best friend, he can be a real big dick sometimes, like he thinks he's better than you. That's actually caused us to stop being such good friends. Well, this time, he just pushed it too far. We were just joking around playing this game and I said something like "Chris is gay!" or something like that.
Well he said something stupid, and then I said something stupid back, and then all of a sudden he gets all offensive. He's all like "yeah well no girl would ever want you". So, I'm confused, but not just gonna take shit like that. So I'm like... "Yeah well you're a fucking creep and you think your so cool with your stupid looking haircut."
Well then he's like.. "yeah, well your a faggot, always will be a faggot, and I should kick your ass for being such an asshole."

So.. it's all silent for a few seconds, and I'm teetering. He just says really quietly.. "Yeah, thats what I thought."

He's sitting right next to me right? Well... I wind up and nail him in the face. I'm up on my feet, and my other friend tries to jump in the middle to stop us. I nail Chris in the face AGAIN, and my other friend tries to stop us. Well I reach in to punch again, and trip over my friend, causing me to trip and like smack my face on the wall. I get up, and say "Yeah, you're not even fucking worth it dude... Not even worth it."

Then he's all like.. " JESUS CHRIST nervous breakdown."

It was all weird the rest of the night. I didn't talk to him for three months.

      --------------------------

      Second fight!

This one is short and sweet. My little brother (who is three years younger than me) hangs out with a bunch of kids that are a year younger than me. Well, one in particular used to hang out with him alot, but doesn't anymore (you will find out why!). One day, I was just walking around the house, and my little brother's friend was over. I walked into his room and just started talking to both of em.

Well, my little brother's friend Kevin had seen me with my girlfriend (of the time) and she was a real piece. I mean, cheerleader... you know the kind of girl you fantasized about when you were in highschool. So... he's like.. why are you dating her?

Of course I just laugh it off, and I"m like.. it's cool.. don't worry about it. Then he's all like.. well, shes too good for you. Because your fucking fat.

I'm like.. "dude.. what did you just say?" Of course, the kid wants to be cocky, so he's like.. "Yeah, you're fat and annoying." Even my little brother is kinda like.. wtf....

I get up in his face, and I"m like.. "REAL FAT AND ANNOYING WHEN I"M RIGHT HERE AINT I?" And he's like.. "yeah, your breath stinks too."

So, the kid got nailed in the face about eight times. He just walked out.. he never comes over anymore. LULZ. He's from around the neighborhood though. He got a pwning.

      ------------
      Maybe just one more!

This isn't a fight, but just kind of funny. Freshman year, I had Social Studies class with this one kid. He was pretty funny, and he was never mean. He was kinda quiet, a big ol stoner, and he was REALLY skinny. Well, one day, we were all joking around, and I kept poking him.

He looked at me and went.. " poke me one more time and I will punch you."
So i just slowly go and poke him.

He pushes me, and I stagger back...

Note: This kid.. is a fucking feather. He doesn't go pushing someone as big as me...

I push him with one hand, and send him flying through a desk. The bell goes off just as he gets up to beat me up.

The funny thing is, the teacher just kinda looked up from his laptop (it was the end of the class, and the class was at the end of the day) and didn't really say anything. He was like.. whatevers.

      MORE STORIESS!

A few yrs. ago with a random girl who decided to be disrespectful. I punched her in the face twice before she even hit me back.

      So yeah I won.

A guy rear ended me and then when we pulled over to the side of the freeway he started yelling at me and telling me that he was gonna kick my ass. I kicked him in the head and he ran back to his truck

Never punched someone, as far as I can remember. Closest thing to a fight was when I was with some random people from school, and we were swimming in a lake. The bottom of the lake was covered in mud, and we had a mud fight. Massive fun.
Anyway, this one guy decides that I'm throwing a bit too much mud at him, so he comes over all angry and shouting at me, and starts hitting me. Everyone's watching, so he's under pressure not to back down. But his punches don't hurt much, so I just laugh at him, and everyone else does too. I think he then managed to step on something sharp and fall over.

I used to do judo as well, but that's not like fighting anyway.
Yeah. I'm a pretty peaceful person

I practice aikido and shurikendo. I have little experience in karate and tae kwon do.

      Fight:

My brother and his friend came home from biking and they were all bloody and bruised. They told me that they got jumped by a group of ten natives that gang beat them. They repeatively punched them in the face and eventually my brother jumped infront of a car to get help which made them run.

So I, foolishly, took their bike and went out looking for them to try and get an ID or name or something.

A car pulls up to me and a guy says, "Hey, is that your bike?" I say yes and he talks to his friends in the car. They stop and a big guy gets out the passenger door. Two other younger guys get out and they just stand there.

The big guy punched me in the chest knocking me off of the bike and then kicked me in the stomach.

I got up and then crescent kicked him into the head which caused him to, unintentionally, hit the curb. He did not get up and his friends ran to him. This is where I bolted, still with the wind knocked out of me.

That was the end of that night!

I got in a fight once. It was crazy. It was 10 vs 10, and six people died.

Oh, wait, you meant REAL fights, right?

I did get in a fight with a stupid red neck twat at school. He was thinking he was Mr. Badass er w/e, and decided to pick on me. He attacked me after lunch, and I kicked him in his gut, knocking him on his ass. It was awesome. Then I got a refferal, a two-day suspension, a detention and almost arrested. WTF

Somehow, thinking of WTF="Where's the Fudge?" made that even funnier.

I've mostly relied on psychological warfare--generally if you respond to an attacker with neither fear nor aggression, standing your ground but not advancing, it confuses them and convinces them that the face-saving move is to back down.

However, if both parties are drunk... I had an ex-roommate express interest in a female friend of mine not long after he broke up with his girlfriend. The first time they met they seemed to hit it off and he was perfectly civilized. So, some occasion arose and we all went out drinking pitchers of something awful (he and I drank the bulk--she was not much of a drinker). Come closing time, we were walking back to my place, and he was taking a dark turn, which was kind of freaking her out, which only made him turn darker. At some point he kind of reached for her throat, and she was really freaked out. I grabbed his wrist and said in a very 'bad dog!' tone, "Man, stop!"

Now, he was out of his head. He and I had a history of drunken wrestling, but generally I didn't put up much of a fight. Making me angry is like push-starting a standard uphill, but this time he'd found leverage.

      And we were drunk.

His martial training was far greater than mine--several years of wrestling and a brown belt in Tae Kwan Do vs. my two weeks of on-again-off-again Tai Chi Chuan. To be fair, though, I could drink him under the table any day. He leaned into me, kind of pointing and driving his finger into my chest. This struck me as especially stupid for anyone with a martial arts background, and I stepped out of the way with only the slightest throw of my wrist to demonstrate. He stared up from the sidewalk, slackjawed, then grinned and leapt up at me, carrying us both over a snowbank into a nearby bank parking lot. We rolled around for a bit, then I got my legs around his neck and cracked his skull off the pavement. We came apart and got up in fighting stances, eyes locked, and had a drunken melodramatic exchange worthy of the shabbiest anime:

He said to me, "I could kill you 21 different ways."

I replied slowly, deliberately, as if lecturing a toddler, "I. Don't. Care."

He considered this for a few seconds, then dropped his gaze, "This is true. Besides," he said, looking over my shoulder, "the girl left." I could have cracked his skull again for being such a dumb fucking ape, but instead I looked back at my friend, the woman in question, a dozen yards or so away.

"I can make my way home, boys." she called, keeping her distance, and headed off away from us.

My old roommate and I ended up having a beer at my house and talking about his break-up, which obviously had rendered him semi-psycho (along with the cheap beer).
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

when i was 11 I was at some christian camp. And one guy who i thought was my frind started throwing rocks at me one afternoon. I told him a few times to stop it. he didn't stop, and one of the rocks chipped my glasses, so i walked up to him and kicked him in the stomach. he was on the ground for hours.

Most of my fights have been sparring matches. I used to spar all the time, in Karate (even beat one of my brown-belt teachers ), and have done a few front-yard-boxing matches. Other than that, I'm known to walk away from a fight that I know just isn't worth it. I've been in a few situations to where the consequence of getting into the fight (damaging a friendship, getting suspended, etc.) was just greater than whatever trivial issue the fight was about, in the first place. Just something that taking martial arts at an early age has left me with.

I've been in a couple of exchanges, though. Nothing big. Traded a few shots with an old friend, in the school cafeteria, once, over something completely retarded. Got into a playground fight, when I was little, picked the other kid up in a body-slam scoop, threw him upside down against a fence and let him drop. Got into a shouting match with the (at the time) class scrub, once. We both got out of our desks and started stalking toward each other. When I got in range I just gave him a flying kick to the chest and sent him sprawling across the desks. Luckily, this was before the teacher was in the classroom.

That's all I can remember, right off the top of my head. I make it a point not to fight, unless there is a damned good reason for it, and I can't say that that reason has not come up, very often.

Well I've not been in the center of a fight for quite some time, like way back in kindergarden there used to be this one kid that was really mean and swore all the time, and I was like super confident as a young kid, I remember thinking how stupid it was to be embarrest about anything. anyway I don't remember what it was about but I got in a fight with him behind a piano once we might have been in other fights too.

Other then that I witnessed many fights throughout my elementary years, mostly with my friend brett who liked to get attention and bad attention by bugging people, he used to frequently be chased down by large amounts of people whome I couldn't stop and brett didn't want me to he used to chuckle and everything when he was being chased, intill they would catch him and wrestle him to the ground.

I also witnessed a fight involving my old friend nate (who got arrested several times due to fights with his father and he even threatened the kid with a gun, at least thats what nate said) I havn't been around him since summer school in 1st grade though, but i see him every now and then, he changed alot from a fairly nice humerous kid, to a street slang type of rebel teen.

I remember nate got thrown down a hill by some kid and I thought it was funny the way he rolled down (he didn't get hurt) well all the wtinesses got sent to the princables office and I was nervous and began laughing in the princables office and she was not happy.

Later I remember this one kid where I used to go to bible studies (I was interested in christianity but not beleiving) punched me i nthe stomach and I told the preacher (or whatever he was) that he did and I don't remember him doing anything, so I quit later on I'd see the kid once or twice around town and he would constantly push me around and ram into me and follow me aroudn town, and didn't seem to listen to me, I never fought back though.

      I don't fight.

      I'm a nice man.

Anyways, I would probably be pwned, seeing as I'm skinny and weak.

well this is not a fight, lol, it's the moment my dark evil side came out...

So this is way back in yr 6( 10-11 years old). There's this like 7 year old girl bugging me. You know how little kids are, running up to me poking me, running off etc. So since she's younger then me i just ignore her... well that didn't work. She kept being very annoying in various ways for several days, i asked her to go away, sometimes i little aggressively so she'd get the message. But she just laughed, you could tell me she knew she was annoying me, but she obviously didn't care. I thought i';d be more mature and go talk to her teacher about it, he told me he wasn't going to do anything and i should settle it myself. Well since i had tried verbal communication for some time, i also tried staring her straight in the eyes, holding her back, etc.

So i thought i may as well end this whole thing. Now i am not strong, especially not then,so i didn't really think about how weak she was. So that lunchtime she does this a few times, i was kinda annoyed that day anyway but i thought I'd do the usual " this is my final warning, leave me alone" etc. But she just didn't listen.

So i grabbed her arm rather hard, it was so weak, like a twig, i felt a rush of power, like i could snap her without using any energy at all. I thought about it , but i didn't. Instead i grabbed her shoulders rather hard, walked her toward a walk and a fast space, and stopped just before it, i squeezed her shoulder shard and said "near time I'll shove you through it".

The unusual thing was, her teacher was angry at me and she had by far changed the order of events( as young ones do). So he was shouting at me, i said to him " well you wouldn't do anything, you told me to settle it like an adult, so i did, did you have other ideas?". That seemed to make him more angry, unusual really, i did what he desired, it;s what adults do.

Anyway since i had never been in trouble before he let it slide without telling anyone, she did stay away from me after that, in fact she made an effort to be a large distance from me. Happy days!

....yes so that'd when i wasn't so cuddley.....
Lugggs and cuddles and hugs for all!!

      EXPLAINZ
Re-reading the opening post, I remembered a specific moment, during a spar. I was sparring with a friend of mine, in the front yard. Out of nowhere, I pulled a low, spinning foot sweep and kicked his legs out from under him. He landed on the back of his head, on a small tree stump, and got a concussion. He ended up going to the hospital, but he was alright. Even so, I couldn't help but be amazed at how badass it was to actually have done that. Lol.

this dude mistook me for someone else. he started pushing me and saying he heard i was "talking shit" -- i told him that i didn't even know him and then he started getting even more pushy... so i knocked him back and took my jacket off. his friends pulled him back and talked him down.

not too exciting but that's the closest outside of the boxing ring. ;D

A few years ago, a guy had become a real problem with my group of friends, many of us did our best to make him feel miserable. Anyways, there was a short fad about pushing him around whenever he would walk by us, which he did less and less frequently (and did very fast whenever he had to). Anyways, one time we were talking in a hallway at school and a guy that ressembled him a lot walked by us, same featherweight physique. So I just joke around and say that *** is going to walk by us and my friend turns around and shoves the guy right into the wall, hard. I don't know if he even thought about it, they looked so much alike that they were easy to confuse at a glance. Anyways, my friend looks horrified for a second and the guy gets up and has the most surprised yet pissed look on his face (none of us knew him). He yells out "*beep*what the *beep* are you doing *beep**beep**beep*!!!", my friend just says "Sorry, thought you were someone else", and the guy left.

It's still a subject of much humour whenever we bring it up .

Ooh, you reminded me of my one knife fight, also my sole experience of racial violence. It was during my door-to-door sales stint in Delaware, and I got thrown out of a gated townhouse development, so I spent the day in the townhouse PJs across the road. I did okay, not great, saleswise, and mostly had a friendly reception. I'm pretty sure I was the only white looking guy up in there.

So that night around 8-9pm I'm sitting on the curb out front of a convenience store minding my business, doing paperwork and whatnot, and these kids are hanging out down the other end of the curb, and this one dude is like, "Motherfucker!" but I think nothing of it, figure they're doing their own thing, and then he yells, "Hey you white motherfucker!" That narrowed the possibilities some. I turned my head, and this young teenager's coming toward me with big deliberate steps, and he pulls out a switchblade. My response to a serious threat situation is calm bordering on shock, a kind of emotionless clarity--I rose at a moderate pace, nonaggressively, holding out my 20-odd-pound sample case of books as a shield and meeting his eyes. At this point his friends, mainly one girl whose family I'd sold books to earlier that day, commenced a wailing. "What are you doing?" she yelled, and grabbed his knife arm, and someone else grabbed him from the other side. They pulled him back and all took off.

About ten minutes later a patrol car rolled up. The officer in the shotgun seat looked at me like I was nuts and asked, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," I told him, "waiting for my ride."
"You know, this isn't a great neighborhood," he told me.
I shrugged. He looked at me for a minute longer, then shrugged at his partner and they drove away.
