Thread: How long do you think you will live?

I started thinking about the various factors, but it was making me depressed so I stopped. So many ways I could die unexpectedly young

So, just going to say I ought to live to old age.

Wow. How terrible of you guys to think that way. My heart would shatter if my partner told me he didn't expect to live past 31.

Well, the life expectancy for people who are 70-80 years old now was much shorter when they were young. So for someone like me that has never touched drugs, alcohol or tobacco and never will, who knows? Maybe I'll live to be 100!

Heh, I had a vision about ten years ago that I would die in the midst of some kind of major upheaval around 2015. I wasn't aware of all the 2012 prophesies at the time, but I was more receptive to them on account of that experience. That said, I don't assume it will happen.

If I do get through the Timewave I'll be lucky to see my sixties, based on family history (from the half I know), personal habits, early stresses, and time spent outdoors in the city. Pretty much all demographic factors are working against me, too--single, male, no pets. If I claim white ethnicity, I've got that going for me, I guess

If I go out in the Timewave, I'll be just shy of 35. Otherwise, 62 after 10 years or so of progressive organ failure. I'm ready now or at 95, however it shakes out.

well, I'll be 70 in 2052

think we'll have bionics by then?

I heard a theory that if you live to a certain age science will get to the point that you'll never have to die.

We're just kidding. Nobody knows how long they will live. Any of us could die at any time.

I think that theory's been around since about 1894, prior to which you would replace "science" with "medicinal elixirs," and prior to then, "alchemy."

Oh well. Who would really want to live forever anyway?

Sometimes, the choices you make (and other times, choices you don't...) will effect you.

The deathclock is based on medical records of people who fit your profile. They are not definitive, but they do have pretty accurate statistics behind them.

XD I think this is the definitive answer to this thread.

Also, try putting in smoking to see how many years it takes off. Try making yourself optimistic, see yourself gain more life.

Hmm, Stress will probably be my cause of death, so I'll probably die of a stroke or something, though I originaly plained I'd eat mainly fruits vegetables and grains when I move out, and leave all the good food for in my lucid dreams, if I ever master it.

I'll probably die of old age in some nursing home, or maybe someday I'll totaly loose my mind and start hallucinating, then I'll master control over them, thinking it's a lucid dream I'll try to jump out a window and fall to my death.

But yeah I don't smoke or do anything that would cause cancer, but not sure if you can get cancer from just nothing. If thats the cause the most likely scenario is I die of natural causes, hopefully well asleep in my home, and a month or so later I'm found.

It'll probably happen at 70 or up. I don't care how I die so long as theres no pain. And perforably alseep, because I tend to panic. Even though I'm not afraid of death consciously, my subconscious will be sure to awaken as much panic as possible.

I'll prolly die of colon cancer because I love hamburgers.

That's actually not far from when I was thinking, myself.
