What Happened In Piedmont? (Weird Site)

So, I was on Xbox360achievements.org this early morning (3:00am) and a banner ad popped up. It said..

"HELP ME FIND EVERYONE. WHAT HAPPENED IN PIEDMONT?"

And I click the banner because it was really odd... and I got this site..

Now, I don't know exactly what the hell it is. It's basically a blog entry about a guy who got a weird voicemail from his sister, and it's basically like "Hey, whatsup bro? Just checking in.." and then a bunch of random crashing and screaming. Theres a link to his twitter, which is another thing that says "I'm freaked out..." or something, and I've sent him a friend request on Facebook (it's linked there too).

Now, this "blog" was created about 2 hours ago.

Don't confuse yourself, I obviously know this is fake (it was on a banner ad for crying out loud), but I'm trying to figure out if it's an Alternate Reality Game, or a movie-tie in. Like, a sort of viral advertisment like they did with Cloverfield.

Help me figure it out guys. Googling "What Happened In Piedmont, What Happened In Piedmont ARG" etc etc, has found nothing.

Also, there's a gmail address at the bottom. Try sending something there?

And it feels like a movie to me.

And that's weird, there are 8 comments but I can't see them.

Bahahaha, that voicemail sounds so fake.

I am currently waiting for someone from Piedmont to come in and ruin it all.

Yeah, me and Onei figure out that it's a mini-series tie-in. Some SciFi mini series... but the weird thing is... this little thing was created about 2 days ago, and the miniseries aired a few days before that. I'm thinking its a little ARG. I did try sending something to the gmail adress, and adding the guy on Facebook.
