GTA: San Andreas - The saga continues!

Rockstar Games has confirmed that yet another GTA game is in the works and will be released for sale in the US by October 19. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is going to prove to be better than it's predecessors. 3 times the size of VC and with even more things to do. Then, if you thought it was over there, Rockstar will come out with another GTA game, Grand Theft Auto 4: Sin City. There's nothing on that game for the time being, just it's release date, which will be November 4. Two months after GTA: SA. I have, however, read everything they have so far on GTA: San Andreas, and it is so cool! I just can't wait to get my hands on this game. You guys better preorder it now, because it's gonna sell out the first week!

I dont know if im happy or sad for that fact how huge the cities are going to be. I think i read somewhere that each section of the city will be as big as the whole thing of Vice city. i thought it took forever to get to one end to the other. Now it's gonna take even longer....

Rockstar got trapped in the endless cycle of crappy game production. GTA3 is the best and probably always will have the highest ratings. Before you know it next it's going to be GTA: Golf Cart Scramble or GTA: Bicycle City. Oh yeah, I can't wait.

Jin my friend you are quite mistaken. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the final in the grand theft auto trilogy (the gta's on ps2). There is no grand theft auto 4: sin city. And Vice City was and still is better than 3.

Are you sure? So if it doesn't come out, what will they have for Playstation 3? They must have something in mind at least to have already come up with the name.

GTA VC = crap, all they did was just add features which left it EXTREMELY lacking in the gameplay department.

GTA 3 = very fun still play it, while i can't stand playing VC for 20 minutes because it's so dull.

San Andreas looks to be just like another VC where all they're going to do is add features and "improve graphics" even though the graphics in VC were lackluster IMO. Now Rockstar is trying to rush out as many GTA's as possible to maximize profit it seems, they tried to push VC out as fast as possible for more sales. Only took about a year to finish VC. While GTA 3 was worked on for two or three.

i didnt know so many people liked the 3rd over VC....

To this day I still haven't beaten the 3rd one. I got bored of it...I think im stuck on the one where you have to run over some wooden stands of some gang while cars chase you other something. oh god..im starting to remember how i hated the 3rd island...

I really liked the aditions of motorcycles and better holicoptors and better boats....

Aaarrgh! Thou dost not notice subtleties wench! How can you even begin to say that GTA 3 is better? After playing Vice City, you notice just how much was wrong with the third one. Graphics, cars, boats, all 'o' that pales in comparison!

It took 3 years to make GTA 3 because Rockstar had no idea how to make a game like that, the Playstation 2 was still new don't forget. When they made Vice City, they had a solid idea of what they were doing, having done it before.

It's actually not true that it will be very similar, San Andreas will be extremely different. I received an expose' type of thing in a playstation magazine, and there are many different things:

- CJ (the main character) can get fat or build himself up.
- Pedestrians will help other pedestrians instead of just walking past
- Many motorists will fight back rather than let you steal their car, so some pistol whipping or punching will be in order
- Spraying your car will not mask you from the police forever, you can get a haircut or change your clothes to avoid being noticed.
- Four person drive-bys

There's a lot of other stuff, if you feel like argueing more, albeit past me to bag your preferences, i'll be happy to state a few more.

I just hope this one isn't too "gansta". Look, there's a line between originality (having a main character that isn't Italian or in the mob), and catering to a music-genre demographic (today's "gangsta" rap). If I'm going to turn on the radio and only hear rap on the radio, and have other stereotypes of the sort, I might not be able to play the game out of my own reasons. Now I'm pretty open to the new character, the ideas about eating and getting fat, and the size of the islands, but I just don't want to see a total "mainstream-attack" on the game.

It's set in the early 90's. Just because it starts out in a Ghetto-type area, won't mean it'll stay there. You do realise that the foundations of the GTA series are mostly stereotypes right?

Yes, I realize that. But what I'm trying to say is I don't want that image repeadily thrown in my face while I'm playing, just because they want some people to say "Dogg that drive-by was the shit!" eveytime it happens with "gangstas" in the car, like it hasn't been done dozens of times in the rest of the series.

More features in a game does not necissarily make it a better game.

Even the quality of the radio stations were far superior in 3, VC just has crap everything. You can't say a game was better than another that was similar to it just because it has more features, and "better graphics" even though the graphics in VC were horribly done, too many things out of proportion, bad sound, crappy textures, and so on.

The GTA series is a hit or miss type series, VC missed completely, and San Andreas looks like it'll be missing too.

which one of gta 3 and VC is just a matter of opinion. I liked VC better much thx to its cool 80's feeling. I thought 3 was a little too gray.
And about that GTA:4: I think I've heard some rumors that it will be an online-only game. like a mmorpg where you play together with thousands of players. I dont know if its true... but it would be REALLY cool. Maybe thats why its not coming to the ps2 as someone mentioned.

Ragdoll physics (impact animation) is supposed to make its debut on this third game in the PS2 GTA series. The endless possibilities with ragdoll physics . . .
