      Addiction any-one?

If willing, what is your story? Your addiction, your wins and failings, tactics and ,supporters? Your post actions of staying straight no matter the obstacle, God willing. Be-it chocolate or hard drugs, sex or video games? I have that type A personality as do all(most) addicts. So ifi drop one seem to pick up another of sorts.
I seam to be able to drop with ease certain addictions or habits no matter the length of use and like of. Others look like a battle till the day I die.

Dr. Pepper. As crazy as it sounds, I have a very unhealthy addiction of drinking Dr. Pepper - all the time. If I don't have at least two Dr. Pepper's a day (and we're talking Big Gulp style), I go nuts. I get the worst headaches if I go all day without a Dr. Pepper, and I know that can't be good. Not to mention the havoc it's wreaking on my teeth and kidneys.

Yeesh, this is the first time I've admitted how truly addicted I am to that soda.

      Mmm, now I want some...

Coffee. I want to stop drinking it and I can't. I get massive headaches when I try and it ruins my life. My body ACTUALLY will not let me stop. Ugh.

      Oh, and DV.

Hmmm. My addiction is sleep. I'm tired all the time so it works out.

Meanwhile I would say the most common addiction for people is either A thinking about naked people, or B looking at naked people.

Coffee for me too, please. And lots of it. I'm a programmer, so it's required to keep my heart beating.

Procrastination. I have a serious problem. Even if I know that something is going to take me a while, I leave it until the last minute and then rush it, meaning less sleep and lower grades

The weird thing is, I can't stop myself. I actually have to think to myself "no, I can't use the computer to look up that word in french, because I'll get distracted and end up doing this at midnight...". I hate it.

Ah, yes. Me too. I forgot about that. Maybe because it's just become a way of life at this point and doesn't stand out for me.

      Cocaine for a while.
For about a good 2 months I almost did it everyday, was kind of addicting but I gained the will power to stop myself eventually and ever since I hardly touch the stuff. I just one day threw out my bag, and just stopped, cold turkey no bullshit. It wasn't that hard really, I hardly felt a withdrawal...just a slight loss of sleep, but after a few days I was okay.

I would have the occasional nose bleed out of nowhere and I lost a bit of weight and stole cash from my parents regretfully. Those were some bad times in my life, but thats the past and the future looks quite bright.

I am a total sex addict. I find myself doing it everywhere with lots of people.

      Is this normal?

knuckle cracking... a habit maybe yes but it has taken me about 5 years to stop it.... finally have brought it down to cracking 1 of my thumbs... it's started as a nervous habit cuz i can be painfully shy... but worked it way in to every day... now i can't stand the sound of people cracking...

I cracked even knuckle at two different joints... so 1 joint just at the thumb it pretty good!

it's a duscusting habit seriouly don't get in to it!!! and embarresing as well.

Football: I am addicted! I watch it all the time and play it all the time! When we win, I am the happiest man alive, and when we lose! Oh my god I get in such a mood for hours! Been brought up by a football mad dad, so had it drilled into me since a child! Love it, always have and always will.

Being wanted: Strange one but true, I can't stand the feeling of not being wanted by someone, so I guess it is an addiction for me to always feel wante by someone. Don't know why, just makes me feel secure I guess..

I wouldn't say I have any real bad addictions though, I drink a lot of coffee, but wouldn't have thought I was addicted. In my youth I had a few worse ones, but we all make mistakes right, and that was like 8 years ago now

I have the being wanted thing too...hate it, wish I could just be satisfied with myself no matter what anyone else thought. Oh well. Might be linked to my sex addiction, though doing much better with that now. Never became a problem, just want it all the time--husband enjoys it!!

Other addiction: cigarettes!!! trying to fight it, it's been 20 hours now...

Same here! I did this a year and a half ago. I started drinking wine heavily RIGHT after my breakup. I got to the point where I went to my friends to talk about it with them because I thought I actually had a slight problem. I was drinking every day and COULD NOT stop. Everyone said I was being dramatic, everyone drinks, blah, blah, blah. But I was going to work hung over everyday for quite a stretch of time there, so..... I don't know if I'd place it in the "addictions" category, but I definitely had a struggle with cutting it out of my life. I'd say I finally stopped craving alcohol EVERY DAY maybe a few months ago. It had a pretty strong hold on me for about a year. I think living with my new boyfriend has probably helped with that. He doesn't really give me a reason to continue the habit.

Man, until I saw your post, I had totally forgotten about that part of my life, even though it was just a little while ago. Makes me appreciate what a good place I'm at right now.

I used to be addicted to smoking. It's been two years since my last cigarette.
But not I'm into pot. It's not addictive, but I do it a lot.

You'd think having a job would encourage that.

As for me? I've never been addicted to anything, my willpower is untouchable.
