You know all that money we spend on nuclear weapons and defense ever year? Trillions of dollars. Instead, if we spent this money feeding and clothing the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded … not one … we could as one race explore outer space together in peace, for ever - Bill Hicks

Indeed, one of my few heroes in entertainment.

Mr. Hicks is definitely a hero of mine.

I have 12 albums of his and I listen to at least one of them every week.

      Never heard of the guy.

After Wiki'ing him, it seems that he reached his success in late 80's early 90's. I wasn't around then, so I wouldn't have had the chance.
You do this every fucking time.
      No sweat.
      No tears.
      No guilt.
You do this every fucking time.

I wasn't around when he was, I was 5 when he passed away. He's still my hero though

This clip I think is the one that made me swoon.
It's not particularly funny, but it is amazing anyway.

He is my favorite stand up comedian. He was very skilled at driving in his points, and I agree with most of the points he made. On top of that, he had a very good comic twist to the way he made his points so well. There was a potent shock value in it. The way he ragged on nosy and hypocritical religious fanatics was especially awesome.

Haven't seen much of him but the whole love and fear bit just reminds me of the Douche from Donny Darko.

Not that I judge Hicks based on a slight similarity to Patrick Swayze.

I thought it was meant for Ron Hubbard. Oh well, it doesn't matter at the least.

I have seen some performance from Bill Hicks, not all of them. He's alright.
