computers store the date & time as a single number
every second, adds one
0 = Unix Epoch (midnight, 1st Jan 1970)
December 31st 1969 = minus one, Unix Time
Coincidentally,
a lot of functions return minus one as a fail code, if something went wrong
My guess is, at some point (this sites gone through 3 different forum packages) something failed during a conversion, and plastered a bogus dates on affected posts
