Nope, it just happened out of nowhere. He was reading his newspaper and then POW, his ankle was broken ;D

Damn telekinesis is out of whack again. I was just trying to crush a beer can with my mind - ended up snapping my ankle.

Nah, but seriously, it was my daughter's birthday yesterday and I was out playing ball. I went to catch the ball and stepped from the concrete onto the grass...which was wet. I did a near-split and the foot I was supporting myself on bent at the ankle. Shit hurt so bad, especially after I woke up in the middle of the night. I couldn't even stand on one foot because I felt the blood rush down into the injured one, and just that made it start aching again.

I've got it wrapped and have been putting ice on it. The idle pain is gone, but I still can't put any weight on it, or rotate my ankle at all, and it was still pretty swollen, last time I saw it unwrapped. I don't think it's broken - probably just a sprain - but I have no clue. Gonna tough it out for a bit and take care of it, here, before worrying about going to the hospital.

Yeah, I know. I'm just going to give it a little time before I worry about the hassel (and cost) of having it checked out. More than likely, that's what I'm going to have to do, but I just wanna see if what I'm doing helps at all before I do.

It's statements like that which make me a little bit proud of the NHS...

Although unfortunately all our hospitals are full of poo at the moment... gotta love New Labour.

aww c'mon the hospitals here aint that bad. My closest hospital, Queens Medical Centre, always seems really good. Anyway NHS rules! Ok so you technically pay for it through your taxes but when i was born i had like 6 injections of a drug that at the time cost over £1000($2000) per shot. Also i was in the hospital for more then a month so i'd imagine if i were in America like 6+weeks of being in an incubator, drugs, 24hr monitoring etc would be pricey, including the fact my mum was sick getting treatment for a few weeks too and then being allowed a room with me too. Basically it's damn well worth it.

Not for me tbh... I took a look at one once on the day I was born and I've never gone back.

But still I think the NHS is a good idea when you get people forcing themselves not to get treatment for what could be a serious and worsening problem.

Yeah, I know. It's more about the hassle aspect than anything else (that and the fact that I've never really liked hospitals. Lol. But if it's bad enough, I'll go.) As far as cost, I could always just have them bill me, but still...whats one more day, to find out whether or not it's necessary?

My appendages tend to be vengeful at times, though. Odds are, I'd wake up tomorrow morning with it lodged in my ass. LOL.
