      Possible SAT essay "examples".

The basic layout of a "good" SAT essay is basically the same as a good debate format...except there is no rebuttle.

Intro ) State your opinion. State examples of opinions (3 examples ideal). 1. 2. 3.

1st Meat body ) segue into 1st statement. Give specific elaboration. Make sure each statement is meant to support your opinion.

      2nd Meat body ) Segue into 2nd statement ""

      3rd Meat body ) Segue into 3rd statement ""

Conclusion ) Recap. Link examples to broader things. Explain what it is that agreeing with your opinion would bring benefits to other people.

I am in need of broad examples that I can learn specifics about to use on whatever "broad topic" the SAT decides to throw at me tomorrow.

So pick and choose good political, scientific, historical, or art related events that I can squeeze into my head by tomarro and then forget forever.

First of all, why are you always an asshole? No one goes out of their way to be an asshole to you untill you start flaming them. Second of all the reason it is misspelled is because I hit enter before finishing everything I needed to say and entered the last two sections in a quick edit.

Gee I misspelled something on the internet in a random post somewhere. It must be because I don't know how to spell and not because it is an insignificant little blurb that I'm writing and I let my fingers do the spelling and not my mind.

You're just an asshole who enjoys harassing people.

Edit: There I fixed it does that make you feel better you condescending fuck off?

You missed one. And you apparently can't spell "beginning" either.

You might want to learn to use a comma, every now and then.

The comma in the above sentence is extraneous (read: wrong).

Don't worry about the SAT essay, if you know how to write you'll do well, if you don't you won't.

Awesome post. I'm pretty sure the SAT guys will be pretty Nazi-ish when it comes to spelling "tomorrow" that way.

Again...little insignificant post on the internet.

I know how to spell beginning, I know how to spell tomorrow. When you type something out in a hurry because you have other things to do than deal with an annoying prick like yourself, you tend to not really care about spelling.

Wahoo, I need some advice on this as well.

For overall practice, I suggest you get the official SAT Study Guide.

I don't understand this comment. Spelling a word the wrong way takes just as much effort as spelling it the correct way. So it's like you're not sure what the correct spelling is, and the effort you're referring to is the effort of trying to figure out how to spell certain words. That's the impression I get from this post.

The government adding an essay question isn't an example of new technology; it's an example of government expansion and the hiring of more markers.

It isn't about being "unsure." It is about typing quickly. For example "beginning" was an obvious fault of typing too fast, "tomarro" was an obvious fact of allowing my fingers to spell based on how it sounds. When you type at a relatively high speed you end up typing the same way you speak, based on how it sounds. Since tomarro and tomorrow sound the same, I don't think about it when I type. If I were worrying about the spelling, I would be typing at the same speed, but I would be more conscious about the correct spelling verses how it sounds. When it comes to language people develop wierd ways of speaking. Usually, however, people can halt their mannerisms when in need. The same applies to typing.

One example is people who type "should of" instead of "should have" based on the fact that this is how they speak it. When reflecting over their writing most people will notice the obvious fault of writing "should of." They don't write it because they think that when speaking they are actually saying "should of" they write it because they write how it sounds, and it sounds like should of rather than should have.

Cause the technology to transmit massive amounts of data has been around forever...and was at its best and capable of being utilized to its fullest since before the 1980s. Certainly this is true. Getting the information to the "markers" would have been so easy.

I think you're under the presupposition that only one thing can be the cause of something.

"the essay requirement was recommended and considered long ago, but the technology of the day couldn't accommodate the transmitting and grading of essays on a large scale. Technology has changed, and so has the test."
