I am sure there is nothing amiss here.
I will investigate the video without any suspicion of surprises or the untoward.
That's awesome, thanks for sharing!
LOLOLOLOL. Its funny, because he will start doing something abstract and then brush over it 5 more times to make it a solid line. This is not art. he is constantly checking himself and painting over gut instinct brushes, but never going anywhere with it. I have seen Japanese painters like this, but who put a lot more thought into it and much much more dramatic and a much much more dramatic effect, but still making it whimsy and minimalist which this guy is obviously going for, but completely failing at it as he is often even distracted by the pain he gets on himself. The environment is all wrong, and he is making sloppy judgments and the strokes of a 2 year old who has an understanding of basic geometry.
Its amazing though how much shitty art gets noticed and sold these days when so little artistic value can be found in it. This kind of art is obviously suited for this kind of shitty video format and an audience while doing it along with a shitty ass song and a shitty ass painter who is just a shitty ass circus act.
Incredible anyone would post this here other than laughs. I am almost offended by this. I have been in art school for almost all my childhood life, and everyone on my moms side was very very artistic. You ain't seen weird till you've met an artist, let me tell you.
I found it fascinating to watch.. but then again.. I'm sure being the "artist" that you are, you could do so much better.
Incredible to ME is the fact that you would waste so much of your energy ranting about this. Next time, if you're so "offended".. please feel free to simply ignore my thread. :?
.
Pretty cool. :D
I also sang that song on my 5th grade "graduation."
That was silly. all that showy display and cheezy music just for a clipart looking 5 minute painting of a firefighter? Nothing about that was art, except maybe the art of showmanship. His jumpin' around was definitely comical.
Ahh republicrats.... you guys are so strange.
Is it because you're a "patriot", or because clairity is popular that you call voicing an opposing opinion trolling?
:?
I thought it was fascinating to watch and I think it takes artistic talent to do what he did! Someone who can't paint/draw.. couldn't do that!
I don't mind opposing opinion (tho I didn't realize I had posted a poll on whether he was an artist or not) but it doesn't have to be full of curse words and basically calling my intelligence into question because I posted the video.
If you don't like it fine.. but why all the hostility?!?
.
This thread is now about trolls and their opposition. It is now about bringing into question the motives behind every poster on DV. It is also about questioning the importance placed on member popularity, instead of post content.
Actually, this thread is now about cats.
I wasn't hostile.
"Someone who can't paint/draw.. couldn't do that!" is a fairly obvious statement, don't you think?
Maybe you didn't post a poll on whether he was an artist, but you did voice an opinion on a discussion forum; and not only that, you made a guarantee. I didn't agree with you, and so I also voiced an opinion on a discussion forum.
Dylan was abrasive, but his post wasn't trolling. I can see that his post was probably sincere, since I thought pretty much the same thing he did about it.
Obviously anyone who can't paint or draw would not be able to paint a picture, but anyone who could be considered a real artist can do better than what that guy did. His process and subject matter were mediocre and hackish. Needless to say, I wasn't "spell-bound until the last drop of paint [was] put in place."
You are all trolls. None of this is about Lucy Dreaming.
Focus.

Put your damn clothes on.
we have opinions too, and they are probably worth more than yours considering the knowledge for art that I have, and that I put up a pretty good argument and criticisms, and you have only made 4th grade put downs. Try and counter what I said, I don't care for you're petty crap, give me the real shit.
What a wasteful painter. IF that's what you want to call him. He throws it around like it's .............
hahahah :jester:
Good stuff Clairty.
That was really cool clairity, I didn't even know he was doing that it was amazing. I though he was just painting the American Flag. haha
Oh, and this "Artist" that's causing drama, do us all a favor and..go paint something!
I'm sure no one, is actually feeling positive about your post. All your doing is bringing negativity into this thread that Clairity made. This video has a positive energy all around it, and you just have to throw things off. If you don't agree, and want to state your opinion then do so. Your just bragging about your work.
So put all your negativity you have, go get a paintbrush and paint us a nice little mad and upset stick figure, and take a picture of it, and post it on the forums and I'm sure everyone will tell you how great it is
Being offended by this because you've been in art school...Quote:

Putting restrictions on how a real artist ought to be...
This is contrary to artistic principle. It's like people who make rubrics to grade poetry by. The musicians who place rules on how a 'quality' song must be and try to write music with a formula... And don't tell me you understand artistic principle better than anyone else. This sort of elitism is attributed to the half of artists that I certainly don't aspire to be more like.
