Go for it. It's both a good smart phone and a great mobile gaming platform. The phone capabilities of a blackberry + superior gaming capabilities than the PSP. That's all good.

Just dont break it, lose it or get water on it ;]

No it's true. I'm pretty sure it has better hardware in there than the PSP. It's too bad the battery runs out so quickly and there's really no controller.

But I don't really care about games, so I that's why I got an iPhone. And they're awesome. Plus, it's always fun to impress people.

My point exactly. Even where plans are more expensive, I can manage with a fairly cheap one. People need to stop paying carriers so damn much for things they don't need, like full internet access or god knows what. It's a phone, and you should treat it like a phone until the carriers stop gouging or Google starts giving it out for free.

I still find it hard to believe the iPhone's a superior gaming console to PSP....anyone got a screenshot/vid that'll blow me away?

Remember, the iPhone is a new platform so it'll be a while before the really great games start showing up. There are also accessories to give you physical buttons for PSP like controls.

I want to be able to access the American app store
