Tell me some good 'Versus' songs

Tell me some songs from any genre really, rap, rock, whatever, that have a good 'versus/fighting' feel. Kind of like Flash of the Blade from Iron Maiden or something like that. I'm using them for a fighting game.

It'd be better if they didn't have like a huge amount of lyrics, just cuz I don't want them to be too distracting. Links too if ya got em.

      Thanks guys.

You could try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDXgD...eature=related The lyrics are so innocuous to further intellectual thought that you wont even notice them.

Hmm, what kind of game is it? What kind of fights? That should make some sort of difference in the kind of music. I mean, techno, instrumental, heavy metal, fun stuff like from a sonic game? Any preferences? You said lyrics don't matter, so here are some songs that just make me think of fighting- not necessarily are about fighting. More like the kind of music I can imagine playing during a boss battle from a zillion different genres.

      Spoiler for random music:

God I listen to a wide variety of really random shit.

I like the original one better...

And it's from the movie Requiem for a Dream. The song is called Lux Aeterna.

I'm trying to find a certain shortened version of it...but I'm not having much luck.

Those are awesome! I haven't checked them all out yet but they're pretty much exactly what I want. But yeah, it's a 2D fighting game, think one of those crossovers like Marvel vs. Capcom or the new one Mortal Kombat vs. DC universe. Just pretty badass stuff.

Sick song n-n. I've never heard of that band, I'm going to be checking them out some more (not necessarily for this game
      either).

These are are all great, guys. Thanks a lot. Keep 'em coming if you've got more.

woohoo! i was skeptical to see if youd like celldweller, ill pour some more in...

this is switchback, celldwellers most well known song.

      ignore the video...

klayton, the head man on celldweller, remixed his own song, and made this.

I have a bunch of music from the Sonic games haha, but that's probably a little too cheesy

Check out stuff by Amon Tobin. Good creepy music though a bit slow. Maybe good for lead-ins I guess if not actual fights. Chronic Tronic, Creatures, El Cargo, Lighthouse, Theme from Battery, Ruthless, they may also be applicable.

The song Creepy by Gary Jules from Donnie Darko?

I guess maybe stuff by Trivium if they aren't singing.

Stuff by DJ Tiesto, (like the He's a Pirate remix). Can definitely sound like fight music.

Stuff by The Legion of Doom (basically remixing and blending other bands) is cool, but I'm not sure if it'd work. I can see Where Do I Stab Myself in the Ears (Hawthorne Heights Remix) maybe though.

Death Dealer's Descent by Renholder if I haven't said that already.

Angerfist is some weird techno that might work.

Stuff like Speed Freak by Orbital.

Neaera? I don't like them when they sing, but it might work.

      Soilwork, too.

And that's all I've got, I've exhausted my 3145 songs

And ditto on the celldweller stuff. I have been searching for new music for a while, and I like their sound thanks!

Yes! The song overfloods me with tremendous awesomeness and inspires the best in everyone.

But for real... "Die by the Sword" by Slayer, "Seek and Destroy" by Metallica, "Walk" by Pantera, "Hostile" by Pantera, "The Final Countdown" by Europe

I'm listening to a band called Pitchshifter on Pandora Radio that might do nicely.

      Apocalyptica FTW:

      + Grace

      + World's Collide

      + Path

Easily some of my favourite songs.

Thanks for the bump, I'd forgotten about this thread.
I'd created a playlist for working out, and it's pretty much music that gets me in this mood, so I realized they'd probably be good to post. Plus, a few others which I really ought to have on that playlist
      Blind Eye Halo by Soilwork
Here Comes the Pain by Slayer... just about as badass as you can possibly get
I Could Care Less by Devildriver (a pretty cool cover someone did, no words)
      My World by Emigrate
      Phobia by Kreator
      Violent Moodswings by Spineshank
      Onward to Victory by Icepick
Guitar Duel - Trivium Vs Bullet For My Valentine (Silent Civilian Intro) (sounds more like your intense boss battle)
Actually the Iron Man soundtrack can be pretty cool.
and I don't think I specified this song already, but Feuer Frei by Rammstein is like perfect for anything. ANYTHING.
