Guitar Wars is here, once again!


This week's task was a cover song of the guitarists' choice. Any song. Any genre. Left a lot of room for some diversity, and I think it's safe to say we didn't disappoint, in that area. So cast your votes and let us know who you think stood out among the rest!

I wasn't planning on joining in, but this afternoon I found myself bored and caffeinated in my room so I decided to record a cover of "Nothing Better" by The Postal Service. The song was written as a duet with the guy singing some lines and the girl singing others, but if you read the lyrics you can probably tell which lines are supposed to be sung by the girl. Quality-wise I am overall fairly pleased with this, except that my guitar was overloading the mic a little bit and I didn't want to do another take, so there is some mild clipping throughout much of the track. Anyway, enjoy.

Ok, finally. And it just figures that, after all this time, the only one I've got uploaded is really shitty quality. It's Heroes by Shinedown. I'm still a bit sloppy on the solo, because my fingers just don't quite work that fast yet, but I'm getting there.
