Thread: I love staying up all night

YES! i love staying up, whther at partys, friends houses, or just in front of my computer, i love it. you are not alone!

Same here, I tend to stay up all night and sleep all day when I don't have to work.

I love staying up all night and going "So THIS is what happens when everyone is asleep..."

I'm definitely like this. No trouble whatsoever sleeping whenever I want (barring emotional distress), but I prefer to be up at night.

Well I have ridiculous trouble sleeping.

I usually go to bed around 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM so I am quite the nocturnal individual. The thing is being awake at such hours usually means you have no company other than yourself. Which is not necessarily a bad thing I quite enjoy my alone time. And virtually no one else is awake I could walk down the busiest of roads and not pass a single car.

It's quite nice + this means I am awake in the afternoon as well so I can still chill with all my friends and it works perfect for graveyard shifts. Ah the life of a nocturnal individual is truly a peaceful one.

I find that the most intriguing inspiring things can happen in the wee hours. Case in point, I'm up right now, at close to 7am, and just had a very stimulating conversation in chat about haiku, that sparked an end to my writer's block (thanks, acatalephobic)!

I'm also like this, I find that the most interesting things happen at night, I actually discovered this forum at about 3am

Taking it further, I like to be outside at night more than in the day. It's so quiet and I love it. Of course it all depends on the kind of area you live in. For me, I'd happily walk my dog at 2am every day, considering I'm in a nice neighbourhood.

Same. I have been nocturnal since I was a kid. I also like the quiet and the lack of people when I go to town for something. I am a social isolate anyway. The last time I went to town during the day and walked into a store I actually just wanted to disappear. It felt like I was being attacked from all sides.

I like this too .

I like getting up at 4 in the morning to just sit and think, or write my dream journal.

Spent all of last night eating noodles and watching an inspiring blend of Mighty Boosh and Spider-man.

Felt good.

I totally know how that feels.

For the longest time I was always sleeping during the day and being awake at night all by myself. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. I'm trying to get myself out of the anti-social situation so I can get a job. But that's really hard when the idea of having to talk to someone scares you. Lol.

But yeah, I much prefer waking up nice and early with a cup of coffee and listening to the 80s radio station and starting my day. :3

Yup, yup. Same here. I thought it would change as I got older, but even as I approach 30, I find that I still naturally want to stay up all night. I only force myself to adhere to a "normal" sleep schedule because of work.

Night > Day

I hate the sun, and I always stay up really late. Almost every day.

LifeStandsStill and Never - I totally relate to that. I don't like being in large crowds of people and just today I went into Wal Mart by myself after work, and I literally felt like I couldn't even breathe right because of all the people there. I LOVE going to Wal Mart at like midnight, because only a few people are there.

LifeStandsStill - you might want to consider a career in computers until you can work through you social fears. Right now, I have a job where I am just about always in front of a computer. I do talk on the phone at work, but it's a lot easier than face-to-face.

Well, I surely won't be able to get a career in computers just yet haha, but I really couldn't do that. I have things that I've wanted to do since before my social fears happened, and I am determined to snap the hell out of it. But thank you And talking on the phone is just as bad as being face to face with someone for me... I dread talking on the phone bleh..

I have serious problems because I slept during the day and stayed up during the night for a couple of years strait.

My eyes are super super sensitive to the sun, or any light now.

Indeed. I work from 10pm to 7am and only 3 days per week (I literally never buy anything and live very simply), so I sort of shaped the world around me, but it took years.

I don't know if I have social anxiety like you, but probably. Ever since I was young I hated the prospect of informal conversation with groups of people. I cannot stand when others interrupt the thoughts I am having in "my own little world" and make me come back to reality. I love 1 on 1 conversations with the right person though; provided we have something in common.

The only thing I regret (and a big one, this) is that it keeps me from finding another half; something meaningful. Otherwise I can do without social interaction in all honesty, and prefer it that way.

Heh yup. The only time I go to the store is at night. No lines, no kids screaming, no idiots going on about nothing.

It is funny you mention that. I don't even own a phone. Not so much that I am afraid to talk, but I just cannot stand the thing disrupting the quiet. It is like someone just busted through my front door and screamed at me to wake up. Back when I did have a phone, all anyone called for was to ask for favors anyway. It was a waste of money.

I used to think that too, but I think I tend to write much more spacey music without having to try, but when I'm more awake I tend to write a different way.

But there is that certain magic about making music when you're tired and emotional and you're singing like you just smoked fire and you got shot in the heart.

I like to sleep. For the sake of the dreams! Also, I'm usually physically tired at the end of the day. If I was able, I'd go to bed at 10:00 PM every night. Early mornings are highly productive for me.

I'm most creative when I'm sick or tired, so I agree.
