      Talking Happy Dec 25th, nonchristians

What are those of us that don't celebrate X-mas doing?

Even though I think X-mas is dumb I like the good will towards man part, so I will be in a soup kitchen. Then writing while the rest of my family celebrates the birth of commericalism Santa Jesus.

I'll probably just get drunk and listen to music. Meaningless day. I had my good day this week when I camped out in that blizzard. Nature - 1 Man - 0.

Well back here around this time used to be time to celebrate the Heart of Winter ( totally my own translation.. too lazy to look for correct translation, my apologies), basically middle winter festival. So I have always traditional sauna and such. I don't mind some xmas traditions, but no, I am not celebrating it because the whole xmas thing was just invented to overtake old pagan traditions

Heated sauna, insane hot löylys, rolling in the snow, couple of beers... ahhh... *enters trance*
Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.

I don't like gifts never actually thought why. I just don't like to have 'em nor give 'em. At least on SPECIFIC DAY! Oh.. that actually miogh be the problem I hate traditions which leads to anger and dissappointment if you are not playing along.

I am very free-spirited, I don't like people tell other people what to do

Good Post. Christmas is encumbered with a bunch of unnecessary material and competitive aspects; religion aside.

AGAIN we celebrate the victory of Light over Darkness, of the God of day over the hosts of night. Again Samson is victorious over Delilah, and Hercules triumphs once more over Omphale. In the embrace of Isis, Osiris rises from the dead, and the scowling Typhon is defeated once more. Again Apollo, with unerring aim, with his arrow from the quiver of light, destroys the serpent of shadow. This is the festival of Thor, of Baldur and of Prometheus. Again Buddha by a miracle escapes from the tyrant of Madura, Zoroaster foils the King, Bacchus laughs at the rage of Cadmus, and Chrishna eludes the tyrant.

This is the festival of the sun-god, and as such let its observance be universal.

This is the great day of the first religion, the mother of all religions — the worship of the sun.

Sun worship is not only the first, but the most natural and most reasonable of all. And not only the most natural and the most reasonable, but by far the most poetic, the most beautiful.

The sun is the god of benefits, of growth, of life, of warmth, of happiness, of joy. The sun is the all-seeing, the all-pitying, the all-loving.

This bright God knew no hatred, no malice, never sought for revenge.

All evil qualities were in the breast of the God of darkness, of shadow, of night. And so I say again, this is the festival of Light. This is the anniversary of the triumph of the Sun over the hosts of Darkness.

Let us all hope for the triumph of Light — of Right and Reason — for the victory of Fact over Falsehood, of Science over Superstition.

And so hoping, let us celebrate the venerable festival of the Sun.

Robert Green Ingersoll - “The Agnostic Christmas” (1892)

I hope everyone has a safe and happy agnostmas and atheistmas!

True, the roll of seasons has always been very important from mankind, tracking back from ages past when all depended on survival.

Hey, come on now. The only people that have that Santa commercialism attitudes are the media and businesses. They see the big profit involved with the holiday. There are other people celebrate it for it's religious meaning.

Just throwing that in to ruin everyone's day .

I never want anything for xmas, but i get alot of stuff anyway. To me Dec 25 is just another day, but you spend it with family. Going to my aunts sisters husbands house, it's over 1 million bucks! big 6000 acre house and yard. 4 kids, 7 grownups.

Well, I'm going to go meet a customer at the warehouse at noon. Then I'll come home and smoke the last of my weed. Nothing out of the ordinary. Except I'll have no more weed.

I hope I run into a dealer on boxing day.

I don't really celebrate it, this year I don't really want anything at all. Although my parents insist they get something. So I got a pair of jeans. Heh.

I know the answer, but I'm not going to answer because that's not what this thread is about.

      Thanks for the gesture ninja

I just put on a happy face and go with the flow.

It is a good opportunity to spend time with my family.
It's nice to see people be generally giving and nice. I wish it could last longer.
