      Free Ideas

Feel free to take these ideas, expand on them, call them your own, or put them into practice, without crediting me. They just come to me, and I'm sure many have already been thought of, but I don't have the time to do it all myself, nor the skills yet. I had these all saved on my computer for a "rainy day" when I would pursue them further, but I decided it's better to share stuff like this, as I'm a very busy person.

You can have the most creative idea in the world, but ideas themselves are utterly worthless. You only get results from the physical actions you take, never for the ideas you have. In order to get any kind of tangible results at all, you must act on an idea. You must communicate it, build it, implement it, and make it real.

The only thing I ask is that you don't take an idea, patent it, and then file it away to never be used. If I find out anyone is doing that, I just may have to consider not sharing any more ideas. Until then, I'm going to continue to add them as they come to me.

      I have one.

Put a small amount of toilet paper into the toilet prior to your defecation.

This consistently prevents any unneccessary splashback.

      Magnetic Energy Generation

Have a magnetic ball, fall down, and hit a permanent of opposite charge, launching it upwards into the air, where it is caught, and it’s potential energy used for generating electrical work.

The thing it lands on could be piezoelectric material, generating even more energy.

Once the potential energy of the weight of the ball is used, as the catching arm with counter weight is lowered, the ball simply rolls off it, onto the magnet where it is again propelled into the air.

That is awesome, toilet splashback is the worst! Especially in public bathrooms.

      Used-Staple Remover / Re-shaper

Removes staples from stapled papers, and simultaneously feeds them into a device that magnetically and physically re-forms them into a usable shape, then stores them where they are stuck back into rows of staples.

Have a center block to fit the main base of the staples, with two arms that compress the pokers from either side, onto the center block, straightening them. (A little over-bending may be necessary to ensure straightness of staples)

Physically operated? Use the force of pushing down on it to remove the staple, to compress a spring, and have that drive the re-shaping process.

Must be very easy to use, and inexpensive to be feasible.

      House Roof Design

Solar panels on one side, glass on the other side of the angled roof. Have retractable, insulating shades to keep heat in at night. And open them to let sunlight / solar radiation in during the day. Run the shades by solar power, and use the solar power for other things, such as heating, or cooling of the house. Solar energy is free, and the sun always provides heat onto surfaces when it is out.

Must know the sun exposure patterns, the view of the sky, and weather extremes

Design the glass to withstand impacts of hail, tree debris, and other such things. Perhaps have panels of glass, so that if an impact strong enough to shatter the glass occurred, it would only shatter one of the panels, and not the entire roof. Use windshield style glass, where even if it shatters, glass can’t fall.

Allow the shades to be operated physically by the owner, in the case of an electrical malfunction / surge, knocking out the motor controls. Have a pulley system in place to make it very easy to operate. Perhaps a single string / belt, spinning a gear train, that winds a cylinder with a built in guide rail, winding in and out the shades.

      House Roof Design 2

Utilize a flat roof, for a porch, with railings, and holes on the bottom of the railings for water drainage. Or have an under-deck system of culverts and pipes to capture and divert rain water. Have a very good screen for catching any debris that would otherwise clog the drainage system.

It must be easy to clean and service. Also the culverts and pipes should be accessible by removable flooring above them, in case stuff does manage to find its way inside.

Allow for a retractable tent style covering of the roof, for rainy days, at least for part of the roof, also for very hot days, where shade is desirable.

The roof would have to be very sturdy to support furniture, and a lot of people, in case of roof parties, and perhaps hot tubs.

Flat roofs are all around, and represent a large underutilized space for many enjoyable activities.

Tablet PC Style Equation Manipulator Software

For doing random mathematical operations on equations:

Use the Black and White 2 gestures system of mouse movements, or pointer movements to access commands. Cross stuff out with a single line to cancel it out. Cross stuff out twice and it disappears.

Have an undo feature, where you can bring stuff back. Also have a movement / manipulator history, which tracks your progress through any equation manipulation, forwards and reverse, start to finish.

Use a touch screen input, with a pen-type input controller. Make it possible to drag around equations with the press or click of a button on the pencil controller. Enter an equation or a string, and after moving on, after a set amount of time or other input, the equation becomes set as a single movable entity, free to move around to other spots.

After you box something in, you can move the box around, with the original staying in place. Double cross it out to delete the boxes.

Similar to Mathematica, only allow more seeing how equations are manipulated step by step for further insight into what’s going on. Perhaps integrate it with Mathematica.

      Lightning Energy Generation

Connect lightning rods to giant cables of superconducting material, coiled around a large iron core many times. I'm talking huge 6 inch cables here.

Lightning voltage can be up to 300,000,000 Volts, with currents ranging from 10,000 to 200,000 Amps, on average being 30,000 Amps.

Energy stored in an inductor = 1/2 L*I^2

When lighting strikes the lightning rod, the electricity is passed through the inductor, generating a large magnetic field. Manipulate this magnetic field by either having multiple inductors in some sort of array, or by orienting the inductor in a certain way. Then use the magnetic field to either spin a massive fly wheel, with magnets on the outer edges of it, lift a heavy weight, or spin an electric motor.

The kinetic energy of the fly wheel, or the potential energy of the massive weight could then be captured by a system of gears, pulleys, or transmission shafts to run a generator and generate electricity.

      Large Scale Underwater Power Generation

This would be best if it was a global project, with countries from around the world contributing to it, on such a massive scale, as to possible produce enough electricity to not need fossil fuels at all. To coordinate this, an epic presentation would have to be prepared, the languages of each country learned, and awe would have to be inspired. If I were in charge of the presentation, I would go as over the top as possible, pulling all the stops.

Find the strongest ocean currents in the world, and build a giant turbine, or groups of turbines in the flow to generate electricity as a sort of under-water wind mill.

      Things to consider:
      • Ways to keep marine life out of the turbine blades
      • Fluctuations of ocean currents
      • Using robots to service the station / build it
      • What sounds would be produced from it's operation, and how it would affect marine life
      • The effects on the surrounding ecosystem

Environmental groups, marine biologists, and oceanographers would all have very useful input for this project.

...more to come later, I'm going to work

wouldnt generate enough electricity, it wouldnt bounce higher than the point at which it was dropped, unless it was thrown down by someone/something, which in that case would mean it would need more energy to put in for you to get out of it.

ive got an amazing idea using magnets, ive had the idea since i was 11, and ive not actually put it into practise yet, it is to generate electricity aswell. but im not putting the idea on the internet for someone to steal.

u have some good ideas in theory and they would be fun to work on and improve if i had but the time...

i had a rainwater/purifier/dispenser/pump for running water if your power goes out and the town water or your well won't work.but i'm still working on it and like slash said i'm not putting my plans for it on the internet for people to steal.but keep posting your ideas i like them.

I don't mind if people steal my ideas, as long as they try to put them into practice, and don't horde them. I mean, I'm not doing much to further them along besides coming up with them at the moment, and I think that if someone found a way to put them into practice, everyone would benefit.

It can't be annoying as that dancing thing. Even if the F.E.A.R 2 demo really kicks ass.

Keep a copper coin under your tongue for a day and by the 10th hour or so it tastes like strawberry.

      Interesting Survey

Ever wonder if someone's favorite color is linked in some way to their eye color? Perhaps it could be due to different color eye filters letting in different proportions of light frequencies, and that subtly distorts our perceptions and thoughts about colors.
