Just a little something i'd like to put forward to all humans.

Hi guys.

All i'm going to say is 1 thing and you can do the thinking, i'm not thinking for you.

Basically, our next generations to come will have a hell of a rough ride if this Earth doesn't get sorted out.
Things we could sort out are:
Treat everyone with equal rights
Global warming/dimming
Extinction - The killing of species
Deforestation
Poverty -> Links with treat everyone equally
and many more but i'm going to let you decide on what our next generation will do about everything.

In my opinion, we have left it too late and everything should have been sorted out when it started.

Hopefully, there is still chance and we can fix things now or we can wait until it gets a hell of a lot worse where wars will start, nobody will listen because they'll all probably be against everyone else. Actions can only mainly take part in groups and this is a reason why i am posting this. I NEED your help guys.

We need to make a change to everything. Please advertise this in as many ways as possible.

... Or we can just wait until nobody trusts anyone and see how hard it is to solve then.

Hey, if you're so hellbent on making this world a better place, why don't you go give donations to every charity that supports those causes?

Every charity? I help in my own way. Obviously i cant afford to give to EVERY charity but together, everyone could thats why i need the help of as many other people as i can.
This is the trouble with starting something, people don't listen to 1 15 year old high schooler but if everyone else was doing it... wouldn't you?

If not, it's people like you who are too damn lazy to do anything about it.

I mean that many of the problems you listed are really a smoke screen for far graver problems that get no media attention. People are always worrying about the symbolic problems like 'human rights' and ignoring the issues that threaten the very foundation of our civilisation.

Ahh... gotcha.

These are such cliché problems to 'worry' about. My guess is that you don't even care particularly that much, but that you want people to think you do.

Unfortunately there are just too many disadvantages to solving these problems. using poverty as an example, where would all the extra food come from?

How about global warming? Ideally we would all use hydrogen-cell cars, but they use fossil fuel energy to extract the hydrogen.


My advise for solving some of these problems? Pour massive amounts of funding into nuclear fusion.

Global warming is the very paragon of trendy cliche smokescreen problems. The whole thing is a greenie's marijuana trip. I'm not going to argue about that point though because we'll be here all year.

Third world poverty is a good example of people misinterpreting a genuine problem. The issue is not a food shortage per se; it is why poor countries never progress towards being able to produce enough food. Looking at the sort of governments in power in these countries gives a clue.

I should probably write what I believe the real problems are. I'll do it tomorrow if I can be bothered.*

I have a question. Not that I don't love animals (I really, really do), but...

How would certain species going extinct harm future generations? I mean yes if all the mosquitoes died then we would eventually be screwed, but I'm talking about endangered animals that we all love but whose existence probably wouldn't make a difference. Like pandas, or the hybrid spider monkey or whatever.

Exactly. Like many environmentalist arguments, it’s purely emotional. I think extinctions are rather sad; as is deforestation – but it’s hardly on the list of humanity’s most pressing concerns. It’s not in the same category as the popularity of Coldplay, for example.

Why would you care about the future of the planet? It's not like you're gonna be here when shit hits the fan fatally.

Also, I agree with Goldney. If we can get to control fusion, we will have more energy than we'll ever need.

One of the biggest problem present on this planet in my opinion, is ignorance.

Sure, I understand how broad that sounds, but here's my perspective:

First, I believe everybody needs to realize how precious of a planet we inhabit. We are lucky enough to be part of this phenomenal experience we call Life, and to have such a beautiful ground to live on. I don't know how many of you believe in evolution, but either way, this planet was here before us. It's more than our mother, it's our creator. We definitely owe it a LOT of respect.

By believing that the self is the only worthy aspect to care for, it is inevitable to care for the earth as well, for all the necessary nutrients and resources needed come from it. It is ignorant to believe that what happens after death is meaningless. Unfortunately, this is what a large percent of earth's inhabitants believe. Why exactly is it so? Where does this ignorance root from?

Problems like third world country famines, deforestation, and the extinction of many species all root from that very ignorance. The lack of respect we treat the earth, and ourselves with. Famines happen because we focus on each country individually instead of looking at things from a wider perspective. This problem applies on a self-fulfilling scale as well. We have enough food for everybody on the planet, we just don't know how to distribute it evenly.
Deforestation may seem completely irrelevant, for we personally don't realize the consequences. It is not just the deforestation itself that hurts, it's the constant exploitation of resources. Taking without giving.
Animal extinctions sure is emotional. But even more, it's the death of a co-existing organism that is just as important as we are. We may be super animals, but we are animals too. Just because we can build fancy MP3 players, and manipulate our neighbor's mind and persuading him that he *needs* it, doesn't make us gods. It makes us smart, yet immoral and selfish organisms.

Ok so...sure, now we understand that we are, in fact, a selfish and destructive bunch. What do we do now? How do we change the state of the earth? By changing ourselves, individually, first. It certainly is a tough challenge, and it may not be very motivating for it may seem almost impossible, but change happens one step at a time. Now this may sound contradictory to what I previously said, but if you think you don't leave a mark, well you do. As the OP mentioned, we all need to work together to attain a clear solution. We're all in this together, to separate ourselves from the group, the flow, is to give up and to coward from the problem. It is very easy to only care about ourselves, oh yes...it is so reassuring.

Well here's my challenge folks. Why don't you empower the purity of yourselves by abolishing ignorance in your own lives, and learn to look at things from a space high perspective. It is extremely motivating to work for a greater purpose than self, and life becomes a thousand times more interesting. Doors you didn't even know existed will open themselves and clarity will prevail.


By the way...don't worry. I also am a very selfish character, I can't help it. But I work hard at trying to overlook the ignorance, and I think it did me a lot of good so far. You all have it in you...open yourself to it. For with such a pure foundation, nothing but good, productive, and problem solving ideas will abound from our minds.
